Why do I need any advanced stats to show me that chase is dominating his position far more than Mac?

Because it’s the advanced stats that tell you their opinion and invalidate yours. Just like if the raw stats validated Mac but the advanced stats validated yours, both sides would be touting the opposite viewpoints.

You don't. But wide receiver is arguably the easiest position for NFL rookies to come in and excel. QB is widely considered the hardest. Hell half of 1st round QBs outright fail

mean he’s a rookie qb with trash receivers, probably the worst receiving corps in the league.

Have you seen the Saints?

You can fight it all you want but a rookie QB with a top playoff seed and ending up with 3500-4K yards and that completion percentage is going to win the OROY every time over a WR

I mean His team won a game where he threw 3 passes for 19 yards.

How do you look at team accomplishments at that point?

Chase has been better than Mac at their respective positions. But QB is more important, and more difficult at to excel as a rookie.

Also, Chase’s last (almost) 2 months have not helped his cause at all for ROY.

The playoff seeding is simply a piece of the equation, not the entire reasoning, so that’s how you look at them at that point.

And again, whether you think it’s right or wrong to use that as part of the equation doesn’t matter, because it is a part of the equation to the people who vote on it

I have. Have you seen the island of misfit toys that Mac is dealing with?

Chase has two proven receivers and a great running back around him to take coverage away from him.

And Mac has already won more games with New England than a former MVP did last season.

Cmon man

Former MVP is true, but it’s quite a misleading take with Cam’s quality of play.

He’s still god DBs to beat.

And we’re gonna pretend that “former MVP” wasn’t washed?

How many games did he win for you squad thisnyear?

Didn't do a good job of it last game. 1 catch for 3 yards? Woof

Oh man, it’s almost as bad as. 3 pass game.

A 3 pass game.

Which isn’t even Jones’s worst game. He threw 3 picks vs the saints.

At best he’s a game manager having what would be considered a bad season for anyone who isn’t a rookie, and it’s not a great rookie season.

And Mac has a great defense and weak competition to play against. Check the SOS.

Ok… what other reason should Mac Jones win OROY?

I listed two in my initial post that you ran right past so start there I guess, I don’t really care.

Chase has a good argument for the award. He’s been awesome this year, as has Mac. I’m just telling you the reality of how these things go.

Had Mac been objectively awesome?

You can’t say yes.

Yes he’s been awesome. Happy as hell to have him as our starter. Don’t know what else to tell you

Chase hasn't been the last 7 games either. Averaging 40 receiving yards a game vs 107 the first 7. You can nitpick either guy, but acting like Chase should be the overwhelming favorite is a little disingenuous.
