They just need much better starting pitching.

Saying that the bullpen is so good and they just need to get to the 4th or 5th inning is not a good thing.

And there's not story lines left. Boston won. The Cubs won. The general masses have nothing to get behind.

It doesn't help that the best player in the sport has only made the playoffs once in his entire career.

Severino has given them 7 innings in 2 starts
Happ gave them 2 innings

Tanaka has been the only one who has been solid

I guess yeah, but Boston is a much better team than New York. Also mentally tougher.

Boone has made some questionable calls with the pitching staff this series.

Meh. Not much you can do when your starters pitch poorly.

People keep underestimating the Red Sox saying that "they aren't built for the postseason" or whatever.

Yeah, they don't have a good bullpen, but their lineup is very, very built for the postseason. They have depth, they get on base, they have sluggers, they steal bases, they manufacture runs, they work counts, they don't strike out much.

They are the best lineup in baseball and their formula works perfectly for playoff baseball.

If they get good starting pitching, they will be very tough to beat.

That being said, I do think the Astros will beat them. But in 7 games.

Looks like the Astros are actually going to have to beat the hard team themselves this year

I would much rather have a lineup like the Red Sox and Astros. The yankees don’t have a single .300 hitter but they broke the HR record at least.
