Looking more and more like he took the quote of "We'll make a decision by the end of this week or early next week"..
But added his opinion that he'll be charged..

The Alanis Morissette picture from a couple of pages ago was perfectly played. Bravo!

I have said this from the start. The DA has to save face and that charges were likely, then charges later dropped after legal system runs its course.

I'll never post again if he is charged.

Can we call this an update if there is no link to them saying he is likely to get charged??

Hence why they will continue to stall and stall till have Winston wins FSU the ACC title and a appearance in the National Championship game.

What media pressure? All the talking heads are doing is arguing for Auburn over OSU, and no one has said anything about Winston in 2 weeks from what I've seen

FL DA is taking some heat over the potential mis handling of this case/investigation.

They may be getting local pressure, but I live in Miami and haven't hear much. I think this Bama loss was great for FSU cause no one is talking about this

Local attorneys are starting to speak up
quote:
“In my experience it is highly unusual for law enforcement to share sensitive information with the defense without sharing the same with the State Attorney’s Office,” said Tallahassee defense attorney Chuck Hobbs, who has represented FSU football players in the past.
quote:
“But in a serious case such as sexual battery, where the victim was adamant that an offense occurred, even if said victim is reticent to testify, I have never seen such one-sided communications.”
quote:
“There is no excuse for a police investigator who keeps the state attorney in the dark while at the same time sharing information from an ongoing investigation,” Block said. “That is highly disturbing.”
And TPD just hired an outsider to be its new police chief. Due mainly to the multiple court cases that have arisen over them not following their own policies.
Pressure is mounting

They will stall and stall. Right now I think they know they have to at least charge him even if he can some how prove his innocence to allow both to have their day in court. They know the out come so will pretend they are handling so much that they can't possibly complete this till after FSU wins the ACC.
The media pressure is the reason they keep coming with this weak "updates" for how much time this process will take.
The pressure would need to be really turned up on a national level to get this guys to move before Saturday. If it isn't, they'll continue to make excuse and deflect because they know they'll be giving the media want they want; a trial. All the while making sure they collude to secure what the University and fans desire; a national title birth.

This has been corrupted through and through. BTW, I don't know how many innocent people need police tampering and witness intimidation.

Exactly.
How difficult would it have been for them to say, Ms. Victim we've talked to JW and 2 witnesses, it seems youre not exactly being truthful with us?
But notifying JW that he is being accused, while telling the victim they arent going to do that, is very suspicious

Yeah, I guess what the level of "some heat" matters a bit here. I am wondering if Meggs plays his hand before Saturday so that he isn't accused of buying time to get FSU into the BCSNCG should more come to light over the process of the investigation...one has to wonder if that is the m.o. or is Meggs' m.o. to wait and let the chips fall Saturday? I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall to hear the banter behind closed doors over this...

I agree as well BUT it seems the tactics worked for a while, if those tactics were used in an effort to sweep things under the rug.

People seem to forget isn't Meggs a known FSU fan? Isn't he the one who let Peter Warrick off of felony charges? He's not about to sink FSU's title shot. Justice be damned.

Maybe Gov. Rick Scott appoints a special prosecutor like Trayvons. Or maybe atty general Pam Bondi steps in.
