Yep as others have noted some of the mental gymnastics involved with a certain fan base in particular trying to spin every single shred of information that comes out as exculpatory to JW is disturbing.
What I have found equally as interesting is a certain fanbase that sports crimson A's has used every single thing the alleged victim says as prophecy and everything the defense says as hearsay. Very interesting from both angles

I think that you don't understand what the word "prophecy" means.

I do, 12 years of catholic school. Maybe I think that y'all want him to be a rapist so bad that y'all are thinking they are predicting the future on how he will rape again

Eta: Gospel is the word I was looking for. My 2nd grade religion teacher would be so mad

The point I'm trying to make is how much college football is a part of people's life these days. You have the Fsu fanbase clinging to anything they can that makes Winston look innocent, while the Bama fans(who happen to be the team most likely to face Fsu in the title game) seem to have the most fans on here claiming his guilt. I don't think either side are bad people, it is just showing human nature

It goes both ways. The FSU fans attempting to rationalize the alleged actions are eerily similar to a fanbase located in Central Pa a couple of years ago.

I know it goes both ways, see my post above

I know some people claim to "know" who the victim is, and I know you will get the ban hammer if you post pics, but can someone tell me the race of the victim? Was asked this yesterday and thought, well, I have no clue. I guess I assumed she was white but really have no clue. TIA

No there are fans across the whole spectrum doing that...it's mixed reaction and you can run through this thread and confirm that but those who have an uber high concentration exonerating JW right off the top, an obvious bias based solely on their team allegiance and not a level headed objective view of the facts and information, rest in one fan base.

Furthermore I KNOW you haven't read my posts to come to your conclusion because if you have you would see that I have taken a cautious, even handed approach to the situation and I have gone to great lengths to allow for the facts and point out what I feel are plausible situations from what we do know which points no fingers in this delicate situation at either camp. I think the closest I come to pointing fingers is what appears to be the rather obvious cluster f*** job done by TPD but that's it.

She is white. So for those people who think the TPD covered it up, must believe the South has done a complete 180 in the last 60 years

I don't have the slightest clue whether he is guilty. No one who posts here knows. This is voyeurism combined with speculation at its absolute worst.

I dunno about that, I think these days fan bias and or pressure(real or perceived) from the local power brokers is sufficient to trump old racial bias.

I agree completely. I'm not saying the Bama fans are bad people, I just don't think it is a coincidence they are the Sec fans talking the most about it. Same way us lsu fans were drooling in the corner when we thought Bama would get busted for fluker

Stupid point once again. Football rules all in the south. If JW wasn't an athlete bet your arse this would have been handled correctly.

I don't disagree, but if you told someone 60 years ago that there will be a day a southern town helps cover up for a black man who raped a white woman they would have said you have lost your damn mind
