So where is all the crying that you suggested. I think everyone wanted him but its always been kind of a jjoke on the boards. Over time it's almost become indifference. We signed a really solid young corner for a decent deal with Lewis. I think we need a LT or even a veteran safety who can play the ball a lot more than another corner at this time.

The crying line was in jest, but to suggest the fan base was indifferent is laughable. As a whole they wanted him and didn't get.

How the frick has this not been discussed?

The source said Asomugha chose the Niners over the New Orleans Saints because he wants a chance to win a Super Bowl

Any Saints fan with a functioning brain realizes they have a much, much better chance at a Super Bowl than we do in 2013

ETA: I would put us 5th in the NFC going into the season behind:
1a. SF
1b. Seattle
3. Atlanta
4. Green Bay

I love how falcons fans made this thread about saints fans. Petty bastards.

This coming from a Saint fan is rich. We can't start a thread without it turning into a Sean Peyton/Drew Brees fapfest.

Will the 49ers have half their team as free agents they'vs picked up? Seems like they have picked up a ton in the free agent period.

6 FAs is not half of a team. They've signed 2 starters (CB, K) assuming Nnamdi is even a starter.

You also can't start a thread without a falcons fan bringing up saints fans.

Saints get him: he's awesome

49ers get him: didn't want him anyways

I'm a niners fan, and I think he's terrible. He may have some raw talent (or did at one point), but the dude has been garbage for the past few years in Philly. I hope he turns out to be a Randy Moss-type guy that flourishes in the right environment, but I'm not optimistic.

ETA: regardless, the niners and seahawks are almost unfairly stacked. can't wait for the season to start.

Even before getting him , the Niners were gonna go on a big time roll. I'm guessing 3 Super Bowl wins in next 6 years type run. They are simply loaded.

His year in that system will make it very clear if Philly was an aberration that happens when an OL coach gets put in charge of a defense or the new status quo.

Two years of shittiness.

But yeah, I'm curious what will happen to him.
