MLB will be even more diverse if there isn't such a discrepancy in payroll.

I presume you're a fan of one of the big or at least average money teams. Its been awhile since I was an fan but it wasn't much fun when your team has to deal away decent players or having to see them part ways due to free agency as your team doesn't have the capital to keep them.

I never said payroll was the end all, be all decisive factor. In my opinion, every team can win it all but having the money sure does help. I dont think I am being outlandish if just one low payroll team won the world series in the last 30 years.

the dbacks literally just played in the world series with a payroll in the 20s

royals won the world series less than 10 years ago

Neither one of those team had a low payroll.

As I said before, any team can win it all, it's just a lot more beneficial when you can afford a massive payroll.

Dunno if the dodgers patchwork pitching will survive the Yankees

I agree but our pitching is a crapshoot.

That patch work pitching has done pretty well this far…

I thought you meant this decade. LOL. I thought it was weird how you referenced this decade as the 20s.

Again, I am not saying it is impossible, just more difficult with a lower payroll. In 30 years, only one team won it all with a low payroll. You have to admit that is an embarrassment for the league.

Yeah, but you just don’t know what’s going to happen. Give me another healthy starter and I’d feel a lot better about it. Still have to get past the Mets but that’s looking pretty good right now.

MLB payrolls have been like this for years. Yankees and Dodgers have high payrolls for as long as I can remember. That just didn't start happening now. While they haven't won it all, the Diamondbacks, Rays, and Indians have all recently advanced to the World Series with low payrolls. The Royals even won not that long ago. High payrolls certainly help, but player development also matters. MLB hasn't had a back to back World Series champion since 2000. I'd say that is fairly good diversity.

oh my god'

why are people obsessing over two playoff series when the dodgers have been winning playoff series and going to the WS for the past decade

like why are they even talking about this right now

You are correct about that. Dodgers farm system has always been one of the best in the game.
