The Red Sox had a low payroll in 2004? Aimlessly bitch all you want, but at least the same old teams aren't playing for a title all the time like other leagues.

You're right. It was 2003 when the Florida Marlins won the world series. 21 years, zero teams with low payrolls. That's flat out embarrassing.

I presume you're comparing this to the NFL. In football, a team can have the one player, such as Patrick Mahomes, and they're be dominant. As good as a player is in MLB, he cannot bat once a lineup or pitch every few days.

In basketball, a top guy can be on the court for the majority of the game.

In hockey, someone can be on the ice for a 1/3rd of the game including key points in time, such as a power play.

While not the who I would have preferred, at least MLB doesn't have the same old teams winning every year like the Chiefs, Patriots, and Warriors did for years. Hell, the NBA sucked arse for so long the same 2 teams kept meeting in the NBA Finals 4 years in a row. I wouldn't be surprised for another Chiefs/49ers Super Bowl again. What a snoozefest. There is always someone that will find a reason to complain. Last year's teams weren't dominant enough. This year, it's high payroll teams are too good. The lame excuses just don't stop.

I just explained why that was the case in those sports.

At least in the NFL each team are on equal playing field. When someone becomes a team with twice the capital as another has a vastly superior chance of signing him.

I am also not finding a reason to complain. Certain team's gross revenue are lower than other team's payroll. MLB is a joke.

All I care about is the bottom line. And the bottom line is MLB has more diverse teams playing for championships than any of the other leagues. Yankees always have one of the highest payrolls in the league. Yet took them 15 years to get back to another World Series. The Dodgers have a grand total of one title in recent history in a fluke season despite having an astronomical payroll. Payroll isn't the end all, be all decisive factor you make it out to be.

We usually punch back after getting hit. But with the way Manaea dominated that first game I think we’re going to get a good feel for how mentally ready the Dodgers are for this game after giving up the first run.

ETA: they’re ready.
