That's not a crazy ask, it's what is right for fans and the general shopper.

And yet that didn’t stop Kobe from having a Hublot collaboration.

Vanessa just demanded more than Nike was willing to offer.

In five years, Kobe Bryant will be an afterthought. Other than the "old timers," players in the league at that point will not even really remember him.

Kobe's shoe line isn't popular because players love Kobe, it's popular because players have transitioned to low tops over the years and because Zoom cushioning is the best combo in terms of cushion + weight + profile Nike offers. Kyrie's line was super popular a few years back for the same reason.

Lebron's shoes fricking suck. Massive, chunky, heavy high tops with ugly arse color palettes from his time in Cleveland and LA.

the popularity of the game is so much bigger now than it was then.

Do you actually believe this? TV viewership today is a mere fragment of the audience size in the 80's and 90's. It is nowhere even close. We have a much larger population, and the NBA has a much smaller audience.

Once Kobe died, THAT WAS IT. His LIFETIME was over. No one is going to buy shoes designed by Vanessa Bryant.
