I'd say the Caps outplayed the Stars 2 periods.
The Stars owned that first period, and that was the difference.
Bottom line, Caps didn't play 60 minutes of hockey, and it was too little late by the time they did.

Thanks to another poster sharing an unrelated link, I found this gem. I did not remember this. Any Flyers fans recall this? Most penalty minutes ever in NHL game. Heavyweights Brashear and Ray go toe to toe. Even some lightweights and both goalies drop the gloves. Good stuff.
