You missed out. Whiteyball rejuvenated the fanbase. I'm convinced we sweep KC if Coleman doesn't get eaten up by the tarp machine. 1987, not so much. we were playing without Clark and Pendleton and no one was going to win a game in that sorry excuse of a sporting venue. Atlanta suffered the same fate years later.

It's not that tough to decide. You want the Islanders. No question.

I became Cowboys fan growing up in Arkansas-all we had. Then I worked for them Couple of summer camps with Johnson and Switzer
I went to SMS from 89-93 worked there from 93-2002. Then I worked for TU and then went to St Stan on the Gulf Coast
Funny thing is I met her in 2000 but we didn’t start dating until I came back home after Katrina and Grad school in 08. Happened to run into her at a Walmart. She works for their corporate office.

I didn’t miss nothing. I went to games of 82 and 87 WS. My grandparents owned a grocery store in Joplin that Yankees had an account for Mantle his last year of HS when they put him in Joplin
Grandma’s cousin was married to Roger Maris
I’ve been very fortunate to live near college coaches and work in athletics to meet some very prominent people. Not bad for a middle class white boy that nobody thought would amount to anything or even live past age 2

Kraft Hockeyville needs to go to an arena that isn’t a hotbed, they need to grow the game. I’ll be shocked if it’s not some urban orNative American winner this year.

I really doubt Coleman's goofball injury had as much impact on the series as people make it out to be. His replacement hit .375 in the World Series, and the team still lost because no one else hit. And have you forgotten how terrible Coleman was in the World Series 2 years later? His sorry .143 average is part of the reason why they lost. People love to make a big deal of the freak tarp injury, but the reality is it didn't have that big of an impact. Coleman always struck out way too much, and most years had a woeful OBP. 1985 was no different.
Clark made a dumbass slide into 1B in September that year he had no business making. It would of been nice to have him, but 3 of the 4 World Series losses were blowouts. So it probably wouldn't have mattered either. And Clark was pretty quiet in the 1985 classic.

The three things I loved about St Louis sports venues
The Arena
The Original Kiel gargoyles
Going to SLU yard to see the arch
Just hated going to SLU for anything else though.

El Paso is a great choice to win.
Non traditional
Shuts up white privilege complainers
Has a big talent base to get involved

It's interesting you chose Cowboys over Chiefs. I casually liked the Cowboys and Chiefs in the early part of the '90s, but once the Rams came over they were my #1. And the Cowboys haven't been America's Team in 25 years. That is neat you worked with 2 coaching greats though.
I have a few cousins that went to Missouri St. But Springfield is on the other side of the state, and most of my family went to SEMO or Missouri. I know nothing about TU or St. Stan. I lived in Springfield a few years ago. But I wouldn't want to be in any city bigger than that.

What Kiel gargoyles? And what was so bad about the Billikens campus?

You saying Cowboys aren’t still America’s team in 25 years shows you that they still are. Everyone has an opinion on them. They are the sports most visible franchise and nations wealthiest. Don’t fool yourself. Until they decide they don’t want to be they’ll always be America’s Team. Franchises model themselves off them.

Anyone can have an opinion on any team. Just like it is my opinion that the Coyotes are probably the worst run team in the league. That doesn't mean I follow them that closely or they are some juggernaut franchise that everyone else should be envious of. Cowboys have won...one playoff game since their last Super Bowl?

I remember mine too. But it all went downhill from there.
Flyers really bringing it now. They desperately need Giroux to step up.

Philly all over NY right now, but they can't make it count.

VGK twitter just announced Fleury in goal tonight. I guess that he's recovered from that horrific backstabbing injury.
