Vancouver's pretty good and the Sedins are awesome, but Chicago has two first liners just as gooas the Sedins plus the best agitator in the game and the best blueliner on the planet. And more quality depth. They are a better team. It's not heart. It's not want. It's talent. Chicago has more of it.
There isn't much, if any, of a talent gap between the two teams
Montreal completely relies on Halak. If he plays awesome, they win. If he doesn't, they lose. The Pens have absolutely dominated the flow of play and Halak keeps bailing the Canadiens out.

I'm defo pulling for Chicago if they put Van-city out...but I disagree Vancouver has a lot of talent just as much as if not more than Chicago, Chicago has really really benefited from some bad luck on Vancouvers' part and has wrested momentum from them...

Van-city obviously doesn't suck. They are a really good team, but I've been pretty consistent on this: Chicago is the best team in the NHL. They have talent come out their collective rear.
While I think the top lines would be a pretty even trade, there's no way Chicago would trade bluelines or their second and third lines with Vancouver. Maybe they'd trade goalies, but I unreasonably hate Luongo. He's the kind of a goalie who kills you.

Exactly. He's the new Marty Turco. Too good to replace but not good enough to carry you. You just hitch your wagon to him, he does something brilliant, and then he guts you.
I'd almost rather have a spare goalie who I won't rely on. He's just a goalie that gives me the hives.

Precisely. When you have Lidstrom and a killer defense, you don't need Hasek or Roy. Chris Osgood will do, provided you can play solid D. Chicago is built very much like those great Detroit teams, which are on their last legs.
A truly great goalie who can carry you to a title is rare. There's only one Patrick Roy. And while I love Marty Brodeur, there is some question how much was him and how much was playing behind the Devils defense.

how much was playing behind the Devils total team trap defense.

Penguins and Black Hawks, could be.
This is my ideal matchup. Although the Hawks are a distant 2nd, they are my favorite team after the Pens. Both teams play an exciting brand of hockey and feature some of the best young talent in the world.

Well...the sun did in fact come up today much to my disbelief. I thought shite was ending last night.

I really hope you're right. I think Crosby will score in this one; just a hunch. He went through several goalless streaks similar to this during the season, but when he breaks out, it's usually in a big way. I still think he's been effective; just not on the scoresheet where it counts the most. Getting Billy G. back should help in that regard. But simply put, nobody is going to put up big #'s against the Habs as long as Halak continues to play the way he has been. All I care about at this point is the W.

need someone to park their arse in front of halak

BTW - Crosby in the Habs series has 0 goals, 3 assists, an even +/-, and 8 shots through 4 games. If Ovie had that line, people would be ripping him a new one (especially if he had broken a stick in frustration like Crosby). Hell, people were ripping him a new one when he was scoring over a point a game and was second among goal scorers. This is what I hate about the Ovie/Crosby debate... it's based on a complete lie (Ovie the Choker and Sid the Clutch Player). both are great players, but we only use the evidence which supports our pre-conceived notions to build the storyline.
I wanted to add to this
Sidney Crosby in last year's SCF
1 goal 2 assists in the series. No points on the road. Didn't have a point in the final 2 games.
2008 SCF
2 goals 4 assists in 6 games.
SCF-Sidney Crosby
13GP 3G 5A.
2 points in road games.
Yes, his teams win, but he has been below average on the NHL's biggest stage. He gets TOO MUCH credit for winning. And I don't even want to get into his Olympic performance. He was merely in the right place at the right time.

I don't remember saying anything about Crosby in this thread before this. I might've said he was unconscious when he was playing the Sens in the first round?

sorry Baloo and I have a running argument going...

1-0 pennys

The PP has been the difference so far in this series for the Pens. They're taking advantage of the extra space. I hope they can draw some more penalties; they should as long as they continue the puck possession in the offensive zone.
