The New York Rangers are trading Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey to the Colorado Avalanche for Juuso Parssinen, Calvin de Haan and a second- and a fourth-round draft pick in the 2025 NHL draft.

Your Panthers just made a big move.
quote:
The Chicago Blackhawks sent defenseman Seth Jones to the Stanley Cup-champion Florida Panthers in a blockbuster trade on Saturday night.
The Panthers acquired Jones, 30, and a 2026 fourth-round pick from the Blackhawks in exchange for goaltender Spencer Knight and a 2026 conditional first-round draft pick. Chicago is retaining part of Jones' contract through 2030, bringing his annual cap hit for the Panthers to $7 million. Jones makes $9.5 million against the salary cap and is in the third year of an 8-year contract. The Blackhawks will retain $2.5 million on Jones through 2030.

I like getting Lindgren, he can really solidify the defense especially with Manson out
He won't need to do as much in Colorado as NYR asked him to do

Panthers up 2-0 on Lightning

Bobby just had an incredible save on a poor Panthers pass. 1 on 1 pad save.
I don't think Tampa was offsides. Puck looked like it was on tje blue line.

Jack Hughes out for the season
Will the Devils even make the playoffs? They’re not up much on Columbus and the East race is very tight at the bottom

Brock Nelson to the Avs
Calum Ritchie, Kylington and a 1st and 3rd going to NYI
Holy crap that’s a lot. I know they’re in win now mode but yikes. I’m not sure about this move.

Mikko Rantanen is coming if we can get his contract extension figured out. Framework of the trade is agreed upon between Stars and Canes. LINK

My worst nightmare
Mikko ending up on the fricking Stars and now Colorado will never get out of the second round
NHL needs to fix the playoff system

I almost feel like MacFarland had to. The Mikko trade opened up a few different doors in what is the final years of our Cup chasing window with this core as our roster, and we have to go all in.
I don't like giving up Ritchie and a first, but Nelson undoubtedly fixes the 2C problem we've had since Kadri walked.
The team is dangerous as is without many questions, if healthy, but we'll see where things fall today. I'm not sure we're done yet.

Stars top 9 is absolutely loaded. Definite cup favorite. lol Carolina

Screw Carolina for sending Mikko to the damn Stars
He goes from one of my favorite players to on my most hated team in mere weeks
After declining 8 years at 11.75 AAV for Colorado, acting heartbroken and shocked at the trade, then signing 8 years at 12 AAV in Dallas, screw him
Confirmed Stars Avs first round matchup now, though

Coyle to Colorado looks like.
Washington better doing what they can to get Marchand now.

This is one I really like. Just didn't seem like Mittelstadt was going to work out here for whatever reason.
A little more wiggle room for MacFarland with the cap too. I wonder if we'll add a blue liner right at the deadline to not have to rely on Middelton if we have an injury there.

Good God I'm not even going to recognize the Avs roster tomorrow

I think this is a good thing. Losing Mikko sucked, it sucks even worse that it's long term to Dallas because he overvalued himself while with us; however, I don't think there is any doubt as to whether the Avalanche are significantly deeper and better than what we were before the flurry of trades.
Finally have a 2C that should wind up being a difference maker with some combination of Nichushkin/Lehkonen/Drouin at the wings.
We've had the wingers forever, but now we're DEEP up the middle.
