I have never seen any team erupting for 7 goals in one period before. Zibanejad tied a league record with 6 points in a period. That is unreal. 2 Flyers finished the game with a -6. Ouch.

Oilers were fire last night in Calgary!
For the first time in DECADES, Connor McDavid is an athlete I will go out of my way to watch. My last one was Peter Press Maravich when I was a kid.
Suprisingly, not much in the way of scraps last night. Tkachuk got a couple punches in over linesmen's shoulders, but that was about it.

You forgot to mention the Dallas Stars are playing like shite during the middle of the season, will likely warm up in a couple of weeks and catch the 4th playoff spot in the central.

Dallas has been behind the 8ball from the beginning due to the covid19 start, but a .500 Pt% is obviously pretty average.
chicago is very catchable in that 4 spot however, so yes a playoff spot is still in the cards. Dallas GA/GF differential is very favorable

Pens beating the Sabres, again. They might set an NHL record for futility. They just stink out loud.
Pens will have won 8 of their last 10 if they hold on. Still a very strong 3rd in the East. 2 behind the Caps for 2nd and 4 behind the Isles for the top spot. And this is w/o Geno and Tanev.
