In the draft. It’s becoming pretty embarrassing and is extremely phony.

I cringed.

Just listen to the words of the song and compare to all of the kneelers.

ETA: and LOL that immediately after the military display, a player from Canada gets selected.

NFL phone call to the military: “get me as many black service men and woman as you can find! Stat!”

That's actually football related, which is the whole point this shitshow. The pandering is just obvious pandering. Might as well play Rock, Flag, and Eagle.

Uh, have you ever seen a Super Bowl?

There's more military pomp than at a West Point graduation.

Isn't this done with our tax dollars via DoD funding?

Correct.

But less arrogance and ring knocking.

Their PR department probably has more spots than a team’s 53 man roster.

Here’s their formula:
This help make us likeable + Does it make the public trusts us = we make more money

Its not the NFL, the military actually pays for all of it. Consider that and every pregame national anthem one big live advertisement.

This is a fact I've been telling you for years. i'm glad some of you are finally realizing it.

Also don't forget that two of the NFL's biggest sponsors are USAA and Navy Federal Credit Union.

Somebody's gotta pay for all these flags that are larger than the freaking state of Rhode Island.

This is not patriotism. This is pandering for money and keeping their target audience happy.

You can be patriotic without wheeling out 10,000 square foot flags, Thunderbird fly-overs, and shamelessly wheeling out minority veterans to announce draft picks.

Or...maybe it is inspiring the next generation of fans who love football but will not make the NFL to serve their country.

I see you what you mean and do not totally disagree ...but it's not all bad.

Anyone who hates a flyover has a problem.

The draft has become such a big joke... It's like on an entertainment awards show level....

They'll eventually kill the goose who lays the golden eggs...

Why ya' think Goodell gets boo'd every year...

You realize, right, that the armed forces pay $ to the NFL like any other ssponsor.

WRONG. It's called football.

If you want to recruit black people, go to high school.
