How does boxing get away with punching each other in the head, while the NFL is limiting contact to "tag you're it"?

You didn't link to drudge, there's already a thread on it that you knew about, your claim, or insinuation that the PROPOSED rule change has passed is factually wrong.

No way they can enforce this. And Emmitt is right, there's no way you could've ever played football if you think this is logical.

Do they actually think a running back will attack a defender, standing straight up? How exactly do they think thats gonna work?

A guy's running full speed around the edge and Patrick Willis flashes in front him, since he can't lower his shoulder, I guess he should just prepare to get his chest blown out.

And we're talking at this point about basic fundamentals in running and tackling with these rule changes that these guys have learned for years. It's ridiculous.

He knows more than you'll ever know about the NFL. Apparently there is serious concern about the sustainability of the league long-term given the impending lawsuits and the ever growing PC movement.

The harsh repercussions of Bounty-gate happened for a reason.

To make the nfl look tough on head injuries. The NFL cares about public opinion. The sustainability of the league is fine so long as the league doesn't withhold information and findings.

More info after you click "Read Full Story":

Rich McKay, president and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons and chairman of the competition committee, elaborated. “This is a pure and simple player-safety rule proposal, first and foremost,” he said. “We really think the time has come that we need to address the situation in space when a runner or a tackler has a choice as to how they are going to approach the opponent. We are going to say that you can’t make that choice ducking your head and delivering a blow, a forcible blow, with the top crown of your helmet. We are trying to protect the runner or the tackler from himself in that instance.”

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher was on the call, and he explained that a ball carrier would still be permitted to lower his shoulder and head, to protect the football. But not the head just before contact with a tackler, outside the box. “We’re saying that in space, one-on-one, head up,” Fisher said.

Nobody is saying he is.

He is connected, and in this case he is probably correct. People who dislike him for political reasons will disagree with any point he makes, because it is he who made it. . .

Draconian is one such hack.

He's great friends with several owners in the league. He doesn't spew stuff like that unless they've told him something. In fact, Rush "predicted" this vote months ago.

How so? He is usually right. That's why people on the left loathe him.

People who hate Rush, have usually never listened to Rush.

We have a challenge on the PoliBoard sometimes. "Sponsor a liberal" we call it. We all listen to Rush, and have the liberal tell us what he is lying about.

I spent years tuning in. He's an entertaining personality with the voice for radio. Having said that, he throws so much shite out there some of it is bound to stick. His misses far outweigh his hits (we're talking about his predictions) I think

People who hate him tend to take it to a really stupid level. When he was up for ownership of the rams, I read articles that would make you think he was a holocaust denier.
