Saints could be in lone first place with a win...

Falcons at a rain soaked Panthers, and Tampa Bay is up in Green Bay... Bay of pigs again.

Every game other than the Rams-Redskins (frick political correctness) has some kind of playoff implication. If I would have said that about this schedule of games six weeks ago no one would have believed it. That is a positive way of saying every game but one has playoff implications even though at least half of the games shouldn't. Come on and tell me the Giant-Saints game, Buccaneers-Packers game, Falcons-Panthers game, Texans-Titans game, Patriots-Chiefs game, and Browns-Bears game have you hanging on to the edge of your seats. These should all be dog games between two teams playing out the season (other than the Patriots-Chiefs game which should be being played somewhere in Europe at 8:00 AM) but because approximately 25 of the 32 teams in the league have the feel of 9-8 or 8-9 teams everyone is playing for the opportunity to be blown out by a 2 or 3 seed in the first round of the playoffs, except for the NFC South teams who are playing for the opportunity to be blown out by Dallas in the first round of the playoffs.

And yes Cowboys fans you are not winning the NFC East. You have games left against Buffalo, Miami, and Detroit while Philadelphia has games left against Seattle, Arizona and two games against the Giants. You are losing at least one more game in the next four weeks than Philly is. Go ahead and start prepping to deal with it.

Saints get an, on paper, easy opponent in the Superdome to potentially grab 1st place in the division.

I fully expect them to shite the bed.

Looking at next weeks schedule I didn’t realize the NFL was turning Christmas Day into another Thanksgiving. 3 games that day in the same configuration as Thanksgiving. Early, afternoon, and night. Also NBC does not have a night game Christmas Eve night, it’s a horrible matchup on NFLN that night.

Saints should beat the Giants, which means they will get killed. It’s what Dennis Allen does.

Would think the sloppy track won’t hurt ATL too much. Smith wants to run the ball 100 times a game anyway.

However next week you do get a great sendoff for Monday Night Football with the 49ers vs. the Ravens. The week after ESPN has the Cowboys and Lions on Saturday night because New Year's Day belongs to bowl games.

No Olave for the Saints today. No Hill for Miami.

Seems like rain soaked Panthers would help Atlanta as they are great running squadron, mate

Did they get moved to the NFC South? Because that is the only way they are going to the playoffs. They are 6-7 and still have games left against Buffalo and San Francisco. At best they finish 8-9 and that is not going to get you anything in the NFC West. All the other mediocre teams in the NFC are still alive because they all have games left with the other mediocre teams in the NFC they are fighting with. The Rams have no way to cannibalize any of the other contenders (and no the Giants are not a contender even if they have something like a 2.3 percent chance of making the playoffs).

The Packers still play the Vikings and Bears. The Vikings still play the Packers and the Lions (X2). The entire NFC Clusterfrick, err NFC South will be playing human centipede the rest of the season. The Rams only have teams from the AFC, an NFC team that will be clinching their division today, an NFC team that is on playoff fumes today, and another NFC team that will probably be eliminated by the time the Rams play them. They can't do any direct damage to the teams they are competing with. Practically every other team anywhere around them in the playoff standings can and some of them will in the next couple of weeks.

Apparently the Eagles have demoted their DC Sean Desai and have elevated senior defensive analyst Matt Patricia to DC.

Haven't been able to watch any pregame shows. Has the rain started in Buffalo as predicted?
