Between this and the bears game, NFL is becoming hard to watch.

Feels like the chiefs always get lucky like this

wonder if one of the Chiefs players said something which made him snap it (simulation of the snap). That’s my only thought.

Look at the center’s face afterward. I’m almost 100% positive that’s what happened

If the ball is snapped before people are set it’s illegal shift, not a false start. That call is correct.

If it had been a false start yeah, but it was called an illegal shift.

side judge ran in motioning false start while blowing the whistle, not usually what you do on a live ball play.

No. That’s the case if they line up then two go in motion and don’t get set. If everyone doesn’t get set initially it’s a dead ball

can someone clarify?

the side judge clearly was blowing the play dead when the play was still going on, making the false start motion with hands. However, can the refs after the fact say the defense clearly recovered the ball and the play was wrongly blown dead? If so that is the correct call.

Doesn't matter anyway that kicker wasn't going to make it he had already missed 3.

They want the games exciting but don’t want the Chiefs to lose. Gödell wants the Chiefs bad in the SB for a chance at a threepeat while he is still in charge. It’s very obvious.

They would have had one other play and a FG attempt, he is a pro kicker and could have made it.

Just watched it again and that's absolutely what happened but the side judge got overruled.

The Chiefs weren’t going to let them have the sideline, and Carlson probably would not have made a 50+ yarder anyways.

That being said, I’m pretty darn certain they got the illegal shift call correct.

The NFL is an entertainment product.

They affect the ending as they so choose.

It's why the Chiefs have won several of their games this year in ridiculous/miraculous fashion even though Mahomes hasn't played at his normal level.

only other question, is not all 11 set a dead ball or live ball foul?

Ok I found it in the rules. So I was incorrect earlier. Not all players getting set only converts to a false start if the clock is running. So in this case, it stays an illegal shift because the clock was stopped.
