No, what you “do” is refuse to answer a simple question. Just man up and tell us you’re not going to answer it.

My “narrative” is and always has been if you are a fan of the sport letting something like this keep you from watching the sport you probably weren’t that big of a fan to begin with. I don’t like all the politics in sports either, so I just ignore that part. It’s not as hard as some people make it out to be

I agree somewhat, but I also disagree. It's becoming out of control. At some point it is ruining the experience.

I can watch and even root for my team even though a majority of players are vocal about a difference of opinion when it comes to politics. However, when the entire brand is pushing such a divisive narrative then I feel like it may be time to do my part and let it go. Especially at the professional level. I like to see things get back to just sports. Not treating a specific race any differently than the other.

The UFC is truly doing it the right way.

Do you think branding and promoting a second "black national anthem" is healthy and unifying for this country?

Who cares it’s just a sporting event (that most of y’all allegedly quit following last year anyway)

Playing any anthem before preseason and regular season games is dumb anyway. Wtf is this, cub scouts?

That's how critical race theory works bruh.

They engage in "anti-racist activity", hence any opposition to them is by definition "racist".

why does it trigger you soo much that i simply ask that we not include the before and afters bits? If you truly don’t care about them and tune them out, why have them at all? Let’s leave the locker room, do some stretches, and jump directly into kickoff. deal?

I am certainly not one of those to threaten I won't watch. However, I did not watch a single game outside of my favorite team and also the Super Bowl.

I would imagine playing a national anthem is done at the professional level elsewhere?

However, why is dumb in your opinion to play a national anthem at a major sporting event? This is really where we are heading isn't it? I sure miss the days where it was okay to be united as a country. America was pretty awesome.

i believe you might make that deal, but i don’t think several posters in this thread would nor would the NFL players. They want the millions while shitting in their fans’ beliefs

Sports used to be the one sacred place in society.

Red/Blue. Democrat/Republican. Liberal/Conservative. Didn’t fricking matter. Any hatred you had for a stranger was solely because they were the rival of your team. For a few hours at a ballgame each week you could lose yourself in a world void of politics. And you could still get along for the most part, regardless of the outcome of the game. But no, then we had to start forcing politics into sports with kneeling, anthem debates, politically charged ads, asking athletes on their political takes and of course: telling those questioning it, “why do you care?”, “change the channel!”, “don’t watch it then”

that’s how we got here to needing to play the “black national anthem” at an NFL game. it’s divisive and besides the fricking point. it’s completely unnecessary.
