I’ll never understand why a permanent straight line camera is not set up on the goal line for crossing the plane touchdown reviews.
Because a definitive TD determination might possibly hurt a Vegas +7 point-swing?

So will they have some type of chip in the ends of the ball to determine where to place it?
Already (proven) magnets and a chip embedded in the football. (see magnetic gloves/wild catches and wildly fluctuating missed FG.)

I've always wondered why they can't put some fricking lasers on the tops of the goal posts pointing up so we can very easily tell whether a field goal is good or not. You'd be able to see by where the laser hits the ball where it went over. But instead we have some guy looking up from 50 ft below in whatever weather there is, guessing.
Also, in my perfect world, any review would get a 1 minute review clock that gets started once the first review starts playing. If they cannot easily determine the ruling within 60 seconds, the play stands as called and we move on. If it's overturned they get a bit more time (pick a number) to get the clock and placement set.

Because a lot of times the tip of the ball is not the furthest forward portion of it.

They do have this. They have cameras imbedded in the pylons at the goal line. The issue is players can block this view on occasion.
It also depends on what level of football we are talking here.
NFL has all the angles
High level college football (big10 and SEC) have most angles
Other levels of college football have even less.

Great idea and solution.
Some sources "in the know" claim there is already tech embedded in the uprights. The reasons are more about controlling the direction of FG (forcing misses OR helping align the kick.)

I just hope it speeds up play.
Heck, I'd be fine keeping it the way it is and having a policy of if it's close enough to measure, just give them the first down and move on.
