Since people are fricking sick of the Patriots. And Packers / Bears tGOAT all time nfl rivalry. And the start of the LaFleur era in GB.

I wonder if that means we also get the kickoff concert.

Think it’s only happened with the Ravens when they had a conflict with the orioles

Roger doesn’t want to go to NE. Shocking.

The Bears-Packers game would help the NFL kickoff its 100th season celebration as the league's oldest rivalry.

NFL 100th season celebration... NFL wants to highlight its best rivalries

FWIW... Packers/Bears was always going to be the Thursday opener... even if the Rams had won the SB

What a better way to celebrate the 100th season than putting the team in it that’s been in over 10 percent of the NFL championships, and 20 percent of its superbowls

More to do with how the NFL has finally realized their scheduling flaws. Games will be spread out better this season, with Monday and Thursday getting better kicks.

It has nothing to do with the Patriots or any so-called fatigue. The nfl has figured out that the Thursday night opener (a game that typically features the Champs) gets lost after the weekend.

From here on out, the champs will probably the Sunday night game and the Thursday opener will be just two big rivals or another good match up.

The 100 anniversary thing just works out this year with bears-packers

Problem with those days is games that look good now will be duds by November.

That's why Sunday night is usually better.

That would have been a great matchup in 1974.

It's the 100th season. So they can pick who they want.

Also, Thanksgiving games announced are Lions/Bears and Cowboys/Dolphins

Didn’t pick Saints for the opener? It’s a conspiracy!!!! NFL is actively undermining the Saints organization because they are a small market team, and that’s why they picked Green Bay instead.

For like the 100th time. The NFL doesn't have to open the season with the Super Bowl champions next season due to the 100th season.
