WTF...they trying to make this soccer?
Do you even know the rules of soccer as far as penalties go? As long as you're "going for the ball", it's not a penalty. You don't even have to make contact with the ball. It takes a hell of a lot more to get a penalty in soccer than it does in pretty much every sport not called hockey or lacrosse. Nice try, though.
And all these rules are retarded. I understand the owners are probably the ones lobbying for these rules to protect their investments, but it's getting ridiculous. At some point they'll realize their investments don't mean shite if no one wants to watch them play.

If defensive players would just start tackling again instead of making their flying missle/big hit tackles most of these rules would not be needed.
Having said that, there were plenty of instances last season where a picture perfect form tackle resulted in a suspension.

That quote is addressing defenseless players. Then there's a list of defenseless players which includes quarterbacks throwing. I don't know what the changes are to the defenseless players' list because I hadn't seen the previous list, but there's not much new to this report regarding hitting
I do not get how the QB, in the middle of the pocket, where all the action is, with 5 or 6 men blocking, looking up field trying to make a play can be considered defenseless. Seems to me, he's the most defended man on the field.
Already wasn't the biggest NFL and Roger Goodell fan, so I'll probably watch even less next year

Once again:
THEY ARE NOT CHANGING ANY RULES. THESE ARE THINGS THAT WILL BE MADE POINTS OF EMPHASIS AND MAY INCUR A SUSPENSION IF THEY ARE VIOLATED.

Like Jack Lamberts said, "Put a dress on them."

So can a QB be in the act of throwing the entire time he is scrambling? Slow fake throws.
