My interest in the NFL has be waning for years. I watch, no doubt, but I can be persuaded to do other things (unlike on Saturdays, when my arse is rooted to the couch [or in Tiger Stadium]).

QB in act of throwing

Seems like a QB could see that he was going to get sacked, and wait to just lob the ball up at the last minute to draw the flag. The NFL is going to become the fricking NBA.

I hate this shite. You can't be there to break up the pass every time. You got to make em pay when you can (legally) so they get the dropsies. If a wr comes across the middle and his QB leaves him out to dry, that is a problem the WR and the QB need to work out... don't hamstring the D.

ETA yea America loves the longball, offense, etc, but we also love big hits. Bonecrunching hits make me DVR more than anything

this is what I hate about the offseason. Both college and the NFL feel they are obligated to tinker with the rules after every year. Usually for the worse and in the case of these proposals way way worse. I will give them credit on cleaning up a few areas just they are going way overboard.

Kids aren't gonna wanna play Defense anymore so when they get in the PFL all the good players will play on offense.

might as well give the qb a green jersey to let everyone know they can't tackle him

so if the qb throws an interception he gets free reign to make the tackle. granted most qbs are bitches and wont even try to make the tackle, but still. same goes for the kickers. i agree with not being able to block them "away" from the play, but if they are in the mix, this is dumb.

A few years ago when Sheldon Brown decimated Reggie when we played the eagles, I hoped Reggie was ok but it was a legit hit, and had it been against anyone but us I would have been cheering. It was legit and I would never want that to go away...

Are yall reading this as no hitting? Some of the reactions sound like it. It's still the same blow to the head or neck, not all hitting comletely

might as well be against the qb. can't touch his head, can't hit him below the waist (brady rule), now proposing they can't hit him while throwing the ball. once Drew Brees or Tom Brady gets a broken rib then the players can't hit qb's in the torso anymore.
