The flags are what's turning me off with the NFL.

Yep, a lot more holding, illegal contact, hands to the face type penalties are being called and it brings the game to a screeching halt.

I’m wondering if this is going to have a long-term effect on fantasy football? I don’t enjoy fantasy football as much as I used to. It’s hard to engage in boring and lifeless games.

Fantasy football is subsidizing the entire thing right now. It gives the average fan some skin in the game, usually their hard earned dollar. The rise in prevalence of daily fantasy has only added eyes to the screen that would otherwise tune out if they didn't have one of "their guys" going on a dumpy thursday or monday matchup. The redzone channel exists solely for fantasy football. Think of all the cable subscriptions or add-ons sold just for that. It's a billion+ dollar industry. I thought the game last night was boring, but I still jumped off the couch every time Hopkins got targeted down the field (and Fuller too, wish he would cut his hair)

Agreed. I don't watch the NFL as much as I used to. I do enjoy watching the more exciting offenses like the Ravens and Chiefs. My own team I can barely stand watching because I hate our QB so much I don't even want to give them ratings while he is on the team.

NFL has gotten almost as bad as the NBA.

I would literally watch synchronized swimming before I would watch an NBA game.

I feel like the Texans may be the most anonymous NFL franchise. They're never really bad but never really good. They have generic colors and a generic nickname. Nobody really seems to hate them. I assume they have fans, but not really nationally.

Everything about the Texans reminds me of a generic computer opponent in an unlicensed late 90's video game.

I actually find the NFL product the best out of the major professional sports now. The NBA regular season has become a snoozefest and the juiced balls and TTO baseball has made MLB unwatchable. Meanwhile you have five great teams in the Patriots, Ravens, Saints, Packers, and 49ers all having tremendous success with varying playing styles. Plus there isn’t a single team that stands out above the rest. For the first time in years, it feels like the field of teams to win the Super Bowl is truly wide open. It’s been a lot of fun to watch.

I’ve come around to the fact that the NFL is just not a good product.

But I’ve almost completely ceased watching all professional sporting events minus playoffs. I generally am not a fan of professional athletes.

Yes. The NFL is the best pro product right now. The margin for error is razor thin with only 16 games. But some of the games are horrible.

Agreed. I have never watched less nfl than this season. I’m at the equivalent of Maybe one game a week. It just is not As exciting or good viewing as NBA these days.
