Trade: the Steelers are sending WR Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, per sources. A new weapon for Bryce Young.

Johnson has a $3 million roster bonus due Friday that the Panthers now will pay.

I feel like I’m in crazy town when I hear PFT or Big Cat discuss Fields. He stinks. It’s not even a question.

Big Cat is always saying that he’s a delusional homer and knows he sees it how he wants

He's not restructuring it to take less money, they'll just convert his contract to a signing bonus or at most he'll defer some to another year if that's even possible. He's not taking a pay cut

No one said he was taking a pay cut. Moving $20 million around is no small deal either.

That is very much a small deal. It’s the same money he would’ve already gotten, just moved up and converted to a signing bonus

Hell do the same thing next year or the season after that and they’ll push the cap charge down again

$27M goes from salary to signing bonus.

You're right, it's not small; It's a legitimately tiny deal.

The Vikings came close to extending WR Justin Jefferson last offseason. In Indy, GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah aggressively rejected the idea of trading the star. Kirk Cousins’ departure hasn’t changed things. The Vikings have no plans to trade Jefferson, sources tell me and @alec_lewis.

He's either near the league lead in drops or outright taking plays off and refusing to block or follow his assignment.

Calling him a weapon is pure comedy, it's like they truly want the franchise to fail.

All these tweets are more or less written by the player agents and sent to the reporters to tweet out first

They just had one calling Mack Hollins another weapon for Josh Allen as a much more ludicrous example.

It’s all just marketing fluff in the same way the first reported contract numbers are always the full max value that has little chance of every being realized. They want to be able to point to the tweet and go “I got this elite WR 30 mil” when in reality they got a middling WR 12 mil

With the Chargers currently projected to be about $25 million over the salary cap, they are expected to release or trade at least one, if not more, of the players on this list. Big Chargers moves coming by 4 ET today.

I think they have 4 of the top 10 largest cap hits in the league, and I don’t think that includes Herbert yet

Almost everyone on the list is a QB except for those chargers

Gonna take atleast a year to reset that roster

DeShaun Watson set up this franchise for success with wonderful draft picks. It took a GM capable of putting the pieces together but the Texans have done just that. Now they have a 3-year window before they have to break the bank for their QB. Better make hay.

The Bengals star DT, DJ Reader is the last elite DT left on the FA market and he is flying to Detroit to talk with the Lions who have a ton of money to spend. The top 10 available DT going into Free agency before the Chris Jones deal over this past weekend are all signed and off the market at this point.

A high end DT takes time after getting drafted to evolve into an elite NFL DT. Bengals might take a huge loss and have no option on the market to replace him with. Would be a huge blow to their defense.

And then trade away your best WR

? George Pickens is still on the team.

Johnson finished with almost half the yards of Pickens. Johnson's 700+ yards and a couple TD's aren't really that hard to replace; especially since he keeps on holding out each year demanding more money for mediocre effort and production. A mid-round rookie will be able to provide what he has.

Pickens is the better athlete no question and is definitely the guy you would take on Madden because you don’t have to deal with his attitude and effort issues.

That can be said for all but a dozen or so receivers yet these GMs can’t stop giving every receiver who hits 1k yards once in their career a $20 million+ a year contract. It’s stupid.
