Flag football is exploding in popularity, especially at the prep level. Here in Georgia we started girls flag football in 2020 w/40 schools. Last year that doubled to 80, this year it doubled again to 160. So in 3 years the number of teams has quadrupled! We have the state finals the first day of the boys football finals(3-day event here), and I just registered a couple of days ago to call games for it this season.
It really is becoming popular.

I'm totally fine with Flag Football being an Olympic sport. I don't think anything will change as far as the NFL goes tho, I could be wrong.

I can see Flag Football becoming a women's sport in college and actually catching on pretty quickly. The thing that may hold it back is finding a season to play it in. The fall definitely won't work, and the spring is bad too because of college basketball and baseball

The NFL is involved in promoting flag football. The NFL isn't just the game on the field, it's the league, the execs, the PR, etc.

Here in Georgia the season starts about halfway through the boys' season and runs concurrent from then till the finals, which are on the first day as the boys finals(which are a 3-day event here).
I think the period between the end of CFB's regular season and the start of CBB and baseball would suffice. That's a 2 month window. Same as it is in high school.

Where is the contradiction in the title genius? The NFL will be promoting flag football, the future for the NFL is flag football. When someone says 'NFL' it incorporates everything within the 'NFL' product. You need to try again.
Aside from that, you never know if the NFL on-field product will become more like flag than tackle.
