conditions were way better the day they rescued him. The boat wouldn't have capsized in those conditions
the coast guard guy said he had trouble staying on top the boat by himself until it calmed. He kept falling off

I really think it may have been survival of the fittest to get that position next to the lower unit on that motor and Schuyler won

The "wife" of the "nfl player" that was interviewed yesterday seemed to be smiling during the interview.

When you try too hard to make a funny statement at least keep the typos out of the punchline.

Damn that's sad. Momma aint given up and I wouldn't either. There is no way those guys just "gave up" like it's being reported.

The guy who they rescued was a personal fitness trainer. He was probably in the best shape of the 3 which could be why he managed to stay attached to boat.
Plus I am sure if conditions were that bad they had no clue what time it was. It probably felt like 12 hours not 4 to them. With hypothermia setting in, sun beating down on them, waves hitting their bodies they had to be tired and exhausted.
We can play the woulda/shoulda/coulda game because were all nice and dry behind computers and laptops it was different for them.
I doubt anything happened, as others mentioned panic, despair, depression probably set in for 2 and they gave up. Then delusion set in for third and he thought he saw something which was probably just a reflection.

If that were my Kid that happened to, it would take me a helluva lot longer than a few days to give up the search and say they were gone. I would do whatever I could until I couldnt go anymore. I would do the same things their familiesare doing, if not more.

After 36 hours, Bleakley succumbed to the cold and the constant pounding of relentless waves, said his father this afternoon.
Bob Bleakley talked to the lone survivor, Schuyler, earlier today on the telephone.
Bleakley said that Schuyler told him: "Will stayed with me for 36 hours and was in my grasp when he lost consciousness and died.' "

Wait, I thought the guy removed his vest and started swimming for shore?

I know, he is not giving the same story each time...or media is just reporting false info.

This is the 3rd story we've heard.
First one was they all had their life vests on and they SEPERATED after a WHILE with their vests still ON.
Second one was they removed their vests, the first gave up after 2 hours, the second after 4 hours, and the other guy who swam towards the light.
Now, the guy who swam didnt actually swim, he was holding hands with the lone survivor.
Is this bad reporting or is the dude just confused about what actually happened?

We are hearing these stories from the news who heard it from the family who heard it from Nick or heard it from the Coast Guard that heard it from Nick. It's like the telephone game, the stories gets muddled as it gets passed on.
As for story #1, all that was was that Nick said the last time the 4 were at the boat was 2am, and that they all had vest on. Doesn't conflict with the other story. The only conflict I see is the one between whether the guy swam for the light or died at the boat. And I attribute that error to the story getting muddled in the telephone game of being passed from person to person to person.

I was actually in a situation similar to this. We were hunting in lake ponchatrain during december. we were in a bass boat and the bilge pump wasn't working very well. on our way back the water got very rough and began to come into the air intake vents. The engine shut off and all the water in the back of the boat rushed to the front and we did a nose dive under the water. the boat flipped and we hung on for about 3 hours before a guy came by in a very small skiff and saved our asses. The waves were probably only about 2-3 ft but choppy.

I'm not believing any of these stories.

One time when I was about 7 me and my buddies were playing on the Slip n' Slide. shite got crazy real fast when we discovered that we couldn't turn the water off because my mom had hooked up a gardening timer to the tap. Water must have been an inch or so deep during the worst of it, but fortunately my dad came home and knew the key code to turn the water off.
My friends and I went inside and had cheese and crackers and Hawaiian Punch and acted like nothing had happened. We still haven't brought it up til this day.
