while it may be the Lions division to lose, id say their history and recent play make that seem more than likely.

The Lions can play the injury game, too.

Lions were missing Nate Burleson, Ziggy Ansah, and Bill Bentley. Also, they started an undrafted rookie at RT.

Its not the Lions fault that Marc Trestman totally screwed up.

thats what im saying. i wasnt making excuses, just pointing out that the Lions arent a vastly superior team and therefore a lock to win the division.

Does anybody know who would win the tiebreaker between the Saints and the Panthers if they split?

Not sure of the exact order, but here are a few things that go in it:

Record against division
Record against conference

I think record as away team is another...but I'm fairly certain the first two are the main two factors and it goes in that pecking order after record vs that particular opponent being split.

Hey, if that makes you feel better...so be it. The simple fact is, they got swept and the game in Detroit was far from competitive. You must have forgot about that already...but, I'm fairly certain Chicago was healthy for that one...unless you have some other excuse. There are no style points, a win is a win.

This current team has far more in common with the team that made the playoffs two years ago than last year's team.

At this point, it is pretty likely that the Kansas City Chiefs acquire the #1 spot in the AFC over the Denver Broncos. Not that I like it, but we are having trouble protecting Peyton Manning, and the Chiefs defense is best in the league at getting to the quarterback.

I think we can split with them, though.

The 49ers aren't beating the Seahawks in Seattle. The last 2 games have been a combined score of 71-16, and that was with a garbage time TD by SF. The Saints have a much better chance.

LINK

1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
4. Strength of victory.
5. Strength of schedule.
6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best net points in conference games.
9. Best net points in all games.
10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
11. Coin toss.

Looks like the Saints have the advantage at this point. The Saints' 2 losses were against AFC teams whereas the Panthers have 2 losses against NFC teams.

I'm surprised nobody's talked about the Cardinals, I thought that was my biggest reach.

I was looking at them yesterday. They beat these 4 QBs they are likely in:
Fitzpatrick, Henne, Foles, Clemens

The other 3 games Colts, and the final two weeks of the season @Seattle, 49ers home.

The only game they have lost outside the divison is to the Saints. 3 wins against NFC South, Detroit, Houston.

The Patriots are going to the super bowl, IMO.

I can only hope the Saints get a chance to avenge our first loss.

i agree. that team also owed its playoff run due to bears injuries.
