Dangerous, maybe not. But have you ever seen a player walk to the other side of the field while another team was stretching and challenge their players while holding a bat in his hands? It just doesn't happen. I'm at football games all the time well before kickoff and I've never seen players cross midfield to go confront an opponent. I'll admit I don't go to NFL games, so maybe this is the norm for that league, which makes it more of an NFL league-wide problem if that is the case.
