what do you know HH comes out and says something similiar.
No he didn't. He's admitted to not having any inside info on what's going on, it's all gut feeling right now and he was feeling the exact opposite until the Vegas news broke. Vegas isn't a threat unless Chouest is throwing up his hands and walking away.

Yes, that's what he said in the NEST.

Today I get the feeling that I couldn't be more wrong. Does this mean Shinn is staying? Does this mean the other potential ownership group I said might emerge is finally coming forward? Again, who knows? All I do know (and this is opinion) is that if George is staying, thats the worst case scenario I can think of (outside of selling to a Clay Bennett type of group that will come in and lie to us that they want to stay while they already have a deal to leave in place with Stern). With our lease ending soon, attendance clauses still in effect, and the prospects for a tough season, the ownership situation is more than concerning now.

Finally, if you are going to make all of these major changes, shouldn't the sequence be owner, GM then coach? The Hornets are doing it backwards...unless God has told George to keep the team. If thats the case, he did the coach and GM backwards....but if George is staying...that makes sense I guess.

yep
His feelings = info. I've been on that site a long time, I know the drill.

Couldn't the NBA step in and make George sell? I mean he has to get NBA loans to pay for his roster. The NBA should be able to set a price.

Yup.

The Hornets speculation vortex is getting stronger with each passing week. At least its entertainment for another 4 weeks.

That actually could be a possibility...Stern tried to force Shinn into selling to an OKC group back during the relocation. By now they are tired of him and his act, they'd certainly want Chouest over him.

I have no idea why George is stalling, he can't afford to own an NBA team. Get your money and go to church.

yeah, it's pretty crazy. he's using up an NBA loan. there are a few possibilities...either he really thinks he can hold on, he is just being an arse during negotiations, or he's waiting for another group to deal with.

On the plus side, if Stern does want to make a power play that would probably give him all the leverage he needs.

Even with Shinn being an unpopular owner, I would think it would be a PR disaster if the NBA tried to put the franchise into BK to force a sale. If he's really got cash flow isssues, they almost certainly haven't subsided, so their real leverage would be in potentially refusing to extend his loan. Its not fall 2008, he can certainly get another one, but its going to be prohibitively expensive (remember, he's about the bottom line) relative the NBA line.

I heard this afternoon from a prominent business person in the area with connections close to the owners that Chouest is done dealing with Shinn to purchase the team. He cannot reason with Shinn on multiple issues that were not discussed but I am sure we can figure out.
DING DING DING we have a winner

For now, but if Shinn can't pay payroll again Chouest will end up with majority ownership in a few seasons anyway.

Let's hope that happens before CP3 is playing in MSG.

FML
Well, that means the days of CP3 in a Hornets uni are well and truly fricked, even if Chouest owns it 3 years from now.
Ah well.

If he really needs Chouest to pay the payroll, I'm assuming he's just going to wait until Shinn needs the liquidity and force him into a sale.

I'm not against trading him if we get something good in return or can package Okafor.
Don't be surprised if CP3 is gone before all-star break.
