Wait, they would move the student section? They better not. That's one thing that truly gives us home field advantage.

That is not much of a home field advantage
Tell me how many other schools worth a shite have students sitting between the 30s for free?

It actually is a bit of an advantage, especially with teams who don't play us often. Most players aren't very bright and some get in to arguments with the student section pretty regularly. I've seen players and coaches both attempt to enter the student section, pretty funny.

I know Oklahoma St has their students behind the opposing team's bench. I don't know how much they have to pay or if they have to pay at all

Look I understand those could be sold to season ticket holders resulting in more money but it would just suck to not have the students directly behind the players. I guess my last post wasn't very rational but hey I'm a student and I love those seats. cut me some slack

Yea you can tell the students really get into some of their heads. A few weeks ago a Lamar player threw a paper cup filled with water at the students. It was hilarious. Those guys get really pissed as the game goes on.

On the bright side, now when you graduate, you'll have the option to buy tickets and still sit there!

But it wont be the same with little kids running around and old arse men telling me to sit down so they can watch the game

First ten rows between the 30s is one thing
Having the entire section from top to bottom between the 30s being free tickets is a lot of money wasted. The school needs revenue to be competitive, not students taunting opposing players.
HUD, T-Joe and Farmer have started to change the ULL fans mindset, but there is still a lot more to do. This program could be a mid-major power if they ever truly get their shite together on all fronts.

A few years ago when we were playing Middle Tennessee, we brought a big fake check made out to Dwight Dasher to pay off his gambling debts. One player was nearly in tears from laughing so hard until one of his teammates shoved him and they started yelling at each other. It was hilariously dysfunctional.

I agree. It's just nostalgia for me. No one wants to sit on that side either because there's no shade. It gets so hot there.

I wish I could find a picture of the check. We just ragged the guy who got mad for the rest of the game. Told him he was just mad that everyone else was getting to read and he didn't know how. He was one of the guys who tried to enter the stands.
Supa, it looks like it's Oregon State from a google search

the current stadium is gonna be emptier than the northgate mall by the end of the season... then everyone will realize all of this new stadium and mid major power nonsense that is getting spouted off is nothing but a bunch of baloney.

Believe it or not I am the target demographic of the future of the ULL program
I am an LSU alum but:
Both parents went to ULL
I grew up going to ULL games
I love college football
I don't love going to all LSU games
I have kids that love to go to football games
I have disposable income
The new mindset of ULL has me wanting to go to Cajun Field this year. I have not been there in at least 10 yrs. I am also thinking about buying season tickets next year and joining the RCAF just to support the local school. None of this was even remotely in my thinking before HUD.
So that being said, I would contribute to stadium renovations and I would buy tickets on the visitor side to sit between the 30s. Getting people like me to buy in is the next big step for the program. I believe they will get there too.
Putting an awning over the concourse would be a huge step forward
