If ND were to join the SEC, LSU/ND would probably be a yearly Thanksgiving weekend game. So, that’d be fun. Other than that, like most fans around the country I don’t really care about Notre Dame

The Big Ten was entertaining and in fact had approved a janky PE deal

That’s a lie. It was proposed, and two of the higher tier members opposed it publicly.

It was proposed and endorsed by the administrators of almost all the schools. It was never formally voted on. It only was blocked because the trustees of some of the universities got involved. But the commissioner and the administrations of most of the universities were very ready to go along with it and nearly succeeded in pushing it through.

Something like that can’t be approved without unanimous vote.

Notre Dame is no longer bigger than Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, LSU, Georgia, and such. They aren't top dog. Ratings show it. Championship show it. Recruiting shows it.

Take a lap, Notre Dame.

Yes, I know. My point was that the administrations of most of the schools, and the commissioner, were all in favor of it, and it was about to pass. It took trustees getting involved to block it. If the Big Ten was one big happy family content with all sharing equally it never would have gotten to that point.

Historically, they’ve done equal sharing unless it is a new member. A move away from this will be the beginning of the end unless done on the basis of number of sports offered.

Right, I think they are either 10th or 15 in TV ratings this season, not nearly high enough to have the sec or big ten bend over backwards for them.

They need to improve their strength of schedule...

I think for perspective, this current LSU team (which got Kelly fired, and we all generally think is bad) probably goes 9-3 with Notre Dame's schedule.

Concede the losses to Miami and A&M to start the season, and then figure a way to beat one of Pitt or USC with the defense.

Which illustrates the problem with Notre Dame- they may well be good, but they also could be almost as bad as LSU was this year- and that was bad enough for a mid-season firing.
