Chane Behanan was a big part of the accusations and he played in the national championship.

I think several of them were, but were they ever technically ruled ineligible? Retroactively ruled ineligible?

That seems like a technicality that could matter.

Nonetheless, if this holds, schools are just going to go the UNC route from now on and tell the NCAA to frick off.

It's apparently up the Louisville to tell the NCAA what players were involved and were ineligible.

I just don't know how they can rule ANYONE ineligible without getting someone from the championship team.

that time off will feel like 15 seconds in the grand scheme. That is barely a stain on a table. He will come back shortly

Total B.S.

Should have got a bigger punishment

All the UL fans around here acting like Pitino is innocent and did nothing wrong. Bull. He knew what was going on. I played an NCAA sport and my coaches knew what I was doing at all times and I was a low level walk on. NCAA is a joke. Of course Pitino knew what was going on.

frick these head in the sand UL fans who actually believe Pitino had nothing to do with this. Then have the gall to call Calipari a cheater.

They're ACC games.

And this punishment is possibly historic if the '13 banner comes down. Louisville isn't getting off easy yet.

Ahh yes, another case where Jim Tressel lying about players selling their own personal items to get free tattoos is more severe!!!!

The NCAA is a joke

It'll be interesting to see the names that UofL gives to the NCAA as ineligible players based on the ruling.

Powell is apparently saying that Russ Smith and Montrezl Harrell are some of the ineligible players. Both were key players on the title team. If they're actually basing their punishment on her accusations than they won't be able to keep 2013.

It may just be a coincidence but Russ Smith's first appearance was in December 2010 and then was drafted at the end of June 2014.

I'm starting to think the banner comes down. If It happens, UNC is shitting all over themselves.

Also, from what I am reading, it's for incidents occurred in 2010 and 2014 - not from 2010 to 2014 - so even the players who received impermissible benefits aren't automatically ineligible for the rest of their careers. Smith, Harrell, and Behanan were all named, but the ineligibility is still murky.

Just basically still a wait and see.

ETA: I think Price and Ware were also named.

The 'Ville got off lightly IMO. They were lucky to not get another postseason ban.

They're blaming it on the SEC because Sankey heads the infractions committee. IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!

And now Louisville is appealing.

Calls penalties "severe and excessive" given cooperation every step of the way.

This is going to drag out another couple of years and very well may end up in court.

Doesn't sound they will get off lightly. Rick on the other hand got a slap on the wrist. UL has 45 days to admit who the players the NCAA knows that received the benefits of the skanky whores. I think they will have to take down the 12 Final 4 and 13 Natty banners.

Soft landing for the ACC again. And NC never will get punished for academic fraud.

Louisville better worry cleaning up the foundation mess they have on hand instead of fighting the NCAA. The audit exposed a lot of corruption and misuse of money. Folks are heading to jail. The school is broke and they have problems in academics and athletics in scandals.
