NBC Sports Network question

With NBC Sports having the right to all English Premier League games and showing all of them for basically free this year, do you think that you will give it a chance and maybe even latch on to a team?
I get it, soccer is gay and/or not a sport, hoping this thread doesn't resort to that. This is a serious question for American sports fans.

Just yesterday I was thinking of adopting a soccer team, either Premier League or MLS. I just don't know where to start.

I enjoy the games and the Premier League is fun. I have a few friends that are loyal followers.
But for me, I just never get get to that point of waking up at 5am for a game.

I figured if I put soccer or EPL anywhere in the title, admins would immediately move it to the Soccer Board even though this is meant for the MSB.

They are showing every game, which means there will routinely be games 10am-2:30pm

Difficult for me to get into a team that's 5,000 miles away. Hell, Houston has had a good MLS club and I haven't been able to get into it. The only time I really enjoy watching soccer is the World Cup and Euro. Even then I'm pretty passive about it save for the Finals.

I'll check out Stoke just to see Brek Shea but I doubt I'll ever adopt a favorite team.
It's hard for me to care much about a league where it seems only 4 or 5 teams ever have a chance to win it all due to payrolls and the lack of a playoff.

HOpefully I can get into the habit of watching (though conflicting with CFB season will be tough).
I still very loosely follow Liverpool.

Since I don't know about the epl, tell me about the teams so I can pick a team to root for.
Who's the Yankees/lakers/cowboys? (Polarizing)
Who's the packers/redsox? (Traditional powers that have found renewed success)
Who's the cubs? (Lovable losers)
Who's the royals? (Losers)
Who's ole miss? (Think they're good but they're not)
Etc...

I should have added "and that I have no local or educational attachment to" to the end of my sentence. I've been to England all of once. I'll likely never go to a game over there. There is nothing for me to latch onto. Hell, its not even the hands down best league in the world.
and BTW, the NBA has a playoff and a cap which mitigates the issues dynasties can bring about.
also, to Soph, no checkmate brah.
While the lack of a CFB playoff has been something I have hated for years, there are usually 2 or 3 teams in every major conference that have a legitimate chance at going undefeated. Hell, the SEC had 6 alone last year.
In fact, while I don't care for the BCS or the bowl system, there is at least a final game for the supposed best two teams. So its technically a one game playoff.
