OKC still have 36 picks in the next 6 drafts

——

Thats prior to today. But Presti is like the NBA Bank. Teams call and offer a $100 bill and he gives them change back.

I think one thing that limited him with build 1 was owners not realizing when in the “window” you have to spend - and a title pays back later on. If they gave Presti the green light there is no telling what kind of hell Presti unleashes on the NBA. That many picks, he is the one who can pay anything for anyone if willing. Some players can refuse to go, but in theory he has more picks firepower than about anyone ever has at one time.

Dallas adding PJ Washington and Gafford on deadline day.

I dont really get why so many Mavs fans are going nuts for Washington. He's going to play the exact same role Grant Williams plays as a floor spacer, is a slightly worse 3pt shooter, and slightly better rebounder. What am I missing that makes him such a huge upgrade?

Gafford I really like though. Now the Mavs aren't screwed down low when Lively is hurt or in foul trouble.

PJ is better in the catch and shoot than Grant could ever dream of being.

It's because Grant Williams is bad at basketball.

Yep, unless something big happens in the next hour, Dallas won the trade deadline. Got rid of Grant Williams' big contract and lack of production for PJ Washington who is another stretch 4, but better at rim protection and rebounding than Williams. Also got a very serviceable big in Gafford to sub with Lively so now there's not a huge drop in rim protection and PNR offense every time Lively gets a breather. Luka gonna love those 2.

That was an underwhelming trade day. I guess that just means we don't have a disgruntled superstar this year.

Makes Monty look extra dumb for having Ivey back him up for half the season.

PJ does it on more volume and does a lot more offensively than catch and shoot.

Gafford goes for 19pts, 9 reb in just 17 minutes while providing some much needed rim protection. Slowed down one of the more explosive offenses in the league today and won by 35. Impacted the game on the offensive boards.

PJ Washington gets 14pts, 5 reb, and 1 ast in 24 minutes.

I'd imagine that here soon, the rotation will be:

C Lively/Gafford/Powell - Probably around 20-25 minutes each for Lively and Gafford, Powell gets mop up only.

PF Kleber/Washington - Kleber probably starts but Washington will get equal or more minutes. Washington will take some spot up 3s but he gives Dallas a guy who can create his own shot off the dribble or by posting up from mid range area...they didn't have that before.

SF Green/Jones/Hardaway - Not sure if they start Jones or Green (thinking Green), but both will play quite a bit. Green and Hardaway will both split time at the 2 and 3 depending on if Luka or Kyrie are off the court.

SG Irving/Hardaway/Green

PG Luka/Irving/Hardy

I stand by what I said the other day...Mavs won the trade deadline by a lot and are now a much more complete team and are a threat in the West if Kyrie/Luka can stay healthy. All of a sudden today, Dallas had nobody over 33 minutes when they've been having 3-4 guys at 35 or more and often a couple in the 40s. That will help them in the long run too.
