Tend to agree and not sure why all the downvotes….

What MJ never breaks his hand and Pippen ends up somewhere else?!?

Circumstances are critical as well as timing and neither truly overlapped primes.

For the record, Bird. Durability should also be an interesting factor though. Barkley played 140 more games than Bird.

The Suns were good enough to win it all.
yeah, KJ was a really great point guard that developed into a superstar in PHX, that's why Barkley went to the Suns. He felt that he could win it all with KJ and co. after failing in Houston with Pippen and the gang. But Johnson just folded like a lawn chair in that series, he just kind of disappeared which is how I would describe his play. I mean MJ was the juggernaut like I've always described him as, an unstoppable force.

but, Barkley had a great chance to win it all went KJ and his team. He just never figured his buddy Kev Johnson would disappear in that championship series like he did. Smh

the first NBA game I ever went to was Barkley's last playoff game in the old Compaq center. I went there for Shaq but Barkley had a pretty good game against the big fella, iirc

Maybe there is some truth to the fact that good players gravitate towards great players, thus great players elevate the whole franchise.

They are called leaders. There is a difference between a leader and a great athlete. One can be both.

I’d say the leader makes everyone around him better and helps sustain success.

Bird = championships
Chuck = individual stats

Bird wasn’t just a tall white kid who could shoot. He really could do it all on the court. Barkley was great, however, I nod towards Bird for his versatility re: passing, steals, instincts.
