Had the thunder not traded Harden, they'd be my favorite to win it all. Instead they will fall just shy again.
didnt this same heat team beat that same thunder team? what would change in that series this year opposed to last to significantly change the 4-1 finals of last year?

And I really do think the Grizzlies have an advantage over the Heat with their lack of size.

Well Memphis is a PHYSICAL team that would give the HEAT FITS.......... But they do NOT have that ONE player that can get them over the edge in the Western Conf.....

The Heat will win, not only because they're the best team but also because they'll get to the playoffs fairly unscathed and fresher while the west champ will have to go through a tough road.

I'd be shocked if any team other than these four won:

1. Miami
2. OKC
3. Denver
4. SA

I liked Denver coming out of the West prior to Galinari's injury, but that may be tough to overcome in a seven game series. They're 3-1 against the Thunder and 2-2 against SA, fwiw. The Nuggs nearly represented the West in 09 against the Lakers (and were the better team IMO), but some idiot plays here and there by Smith and Martin fricked them. I think they'll get close again this year and wouldn't be surprised if they won the conference. George Karl is a brilliant coach that doesn't get enough credit for his basketball IQ and savvy.

i think the spurs have the best chance at beating the heat, but dont think they can get through the thunder

It's sad that the NBA talent pool is so diluted that only one or two teams have a shot at winning a title. What makes the 90 regular season games or 50 playoff games exciting?

Only a couple of teams have a shot bc it's the one American sport that consistently crowns it's best team as champions. One and done playoff formats give you a much wider pool of potential winners but it's a lot more about who gets hot and who gets the best match ups than who the best team is.

Also, this year is different bc this miami team is one of the best of all time. Normally there's more uncertainty heading into the playoffs

i think there is more talent in nba now than there has been in a long time, and alota young talent. the main reason its 2-3 teams now is more about injuries..

bulls- drose
celts- rondo
lakers- kobe

that is three key players on 3 major market teams out of the picture.

If nuggets had gallinari, they'd be my sleeper

This is why the NBA sucks. Outside of the usual suspects, nobody has a shot in a 7 game series

If the Heat match up against the Knicks, the Heat will roll their asses in 5 games. LOL @ people that think the Knicks have a chance against Miami.

Do you mean in the Finals, or in a playoffs series? The Clippers, Grizzlies, and Nuggs aren't exactly traditional West powers, but they're all significantly better than the Lakers and Mavs, the two most recent NBA champions from the West.

Indiana and New York are top seeds, Boston and Chicago are low seeds. Sure Miami is going to win the East, but teams are rising and falling constantly

its always been that way. its the reason 7 franchises have 73% of the titles. theres only a few superstar basketball players on the planet, and when they are on the same team, its damn hard to beat them. the heat, duncan's spurs, kobe's lakers, jordan's bulls, lakers, celtics. usual suspects. talent wins.
