4/50 for Clarkson would have been a nice deal even before all of this money came into the league

if anybody argued with my "bargain" post, i was going to make this exact comment

Man for what they did with the Russian, getting that for Clarkson is a steal. Would much rather have him than Beal and he's half the price.

you could argue they've done better than tProcess without all the embarrassment and negative PR

Mainly because we've gotten lucky in the lottery these past two years

Well they kind of had that with Kobe

But a D-Lo, Clarkson, Ingram and Randle core looks pretty stout if they remain patient.

Clarkson's deal looks like an even bigger steal compared to this

Ehhh. Let's see what happens over the next two years.

They don't have a first rounder next year if it's a 4th pick or later. And if it is a top 3 pick, they don't have a pick at all in 2018.

Parsons trying to be baby Timberlake.

quote:

Free agents Mike Conley and Chandler Parsons have talked several times about teaming up in Memphis, posts Tim MacMahon on ESPN Now. Parsons, who already has a maximum offer on the table from the Blazers, will meet with Grizzlies officials later today in Los Angeles. Conley has a meeting scheduled with the Mavericks, but MacMahon says Conley and Parsons haven’t talked about becoming teammates in Dallas.

Also, this is interesting:

quote:

The Pelicans could have signed point guard Jeremy Lin, but weren’t willing to give him more than $10MM per season, tweets Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com. Lin agreed to a deal with the Nets this morning for $36MM over three years.

Should have paid that extra 2 mil a year, IMO. It's great value.

would it be possible to add #SummerOfPipe to the thread title?

The Cavs look insanely smart for going way over the cap to re-sign guys last year instead of trying to add lesser talent this summer.

Solid point here

I'm already doing it again

Seriously tho, the lack of future first rounders hurts. I'm hoping like hell that Ingram or DLo will develop into a superstar

next year's pick is top 3 protected and we may honestly still be in the running for that. There's something weird going on with our 2018 pick though. It goes to Orlando or something if we keep this upcoming first rounder. I think after that we are done

They could have a very solid young core. If they can keep their pick for next year then They could be relatively set for the future. Not so bad if they lose a 10+ pick in 2018 when they already have 4 straight years of top 3 picks.

yeah that point was made a great deal. they'd get 1 year of potential pain and be well off in the long-term

winning a title makes it look even better in hindsight

Link?

My understanding is that it just becomes unprotected. Did Philly trade that pick away? I don't think they did.
