The thought of Atlanta having any success in professional sports makes some people here legit angry. I'm pretty sure they would rather Atlanta teams suck than New Orleans teams be good.

Atlanta would be playing the Cavs in the conference finals if they could somehow pull KD. Don't be stupid.

That's the plan, m8.

If we were to get Howard it would immediately solve our rebounding issue. Even if Howard never scored a single point for us, the fact that he is a giant in the post would be absolutely monstrous for us. Add KD to the mix, and then the media and all it's sheep couldn't say "Atlanta doesn't have a superstar to go to in crunch time." Atlanta is already a top 4 team with what we have. If we replace Horford with Howard and replace Thabo with Kevin Durant, I don't see how we aren't at least on par with the Cavs in terms of chances to reach the NBA Finals.

Marc Stein just said on LeBatard that he thinks KD ends up signing with the Warriors

The Warriors would have no money to put together a competent bench. Teams will be willing to break the bank for the likes of Curry, Thompson, and Draymond. Bogut could get more than MLE, as well as Iggy. They wouldn't have shite behind them on the bench if they signed KD.

Mother frick. If so, he should catch more flack than LBJ got in 2010 imo. That would be like Lebron joining the Celtics right after getting bounced

That starting 5 would be unbelievable but I agree, it would gut their biggest advantage which is the loaded bench. They would likely have to move Bogut, Livingston and let Barnes walk to make room for KD

And it would all be worth it.

Nah man, a team that has averaged 55 wins over the last two years would never contend by adding a top 3 overall player.

Marc Stein ?@ESPNSteinLine Early indications are that increasingly coveted Hawks swingman Kent Bazemore will start holding his free agency meetings AFTER July 4

He ought to be able to stay awake during the meetings.

frick it.. Let Bazemore walk. Let Horford walk. Give us Howard and KD. #KDtoATL #HowardGoHome

The Hawks are going to be the Dallas Mavericks of the 2016 off season.

Top 4 team in what? The east? Definitely not the league. The addition of KD would instantly propel ATL to #2 in the east but they still wouldn't be favored against the Cavs or GS AND SAS.
But anyways. Idk why we are having this conversation. KD has no interest in the Hawks so we should drop it.
Y'all do have a shot at Dwight though. Drop horford and snag Dwight and see what happens

Either we drop Horford and add Howard or drop Bazemore and add Howard and try to figure it out. I don't really like how we stand going into free agency, tbh.

Also, I don't want to see us tank. I know the ultimate goal is a title, but I enjoy the whole season and don't want to see us put garbage out there all season long.

Well that depends on how the message is delivered...and LeBron should've joined the Celtics in '10
