One team making the playoffs and one not is, by definition, one team advancing further in the playoffs.
You've been here since '08. You should know that's not how these things work on this site.
One could make the argument that if the Pels made the playoffs but lose in the first round, they never advanced in the playoffs and therefore did not advance farther than the Rockets.
It's very easy to play around with the terms unless you back them in a corner.

I wonder why you used jrue as your comparison... your pels trolling is robotic at this point.

Gasol and Noah won't be back. Butler won't be traded IMO. All year long it was reported that butler and rose couldn't get along. Rose is gone now. It's butlers team.

He's a league average starting PG. Ranked outside the top 10 but better than the low teens.

One year left on his deal. Nice gamble for Knicks.
Yeah I like the deal for the Knicks. Most people will criticize it because of Rose's injuries though
Yea, of course people will see Knicks and Derrick rose and just laugh and say what a joke.
But it's really not a bad move. You give up Lopez and Calderon for Rose on his last year of contract. If he struggles or gets hurt then you let him go, if he ends up working out then it was a cheap move with a high reward

If you flip Melo for Love you actually get nice spacing.

If cavs traded love for a draft pick I would be disgusted.
A college player isn't mentally ready for championship basketball nor physically. The first year when you go from a 35 game season to 100 including playoff basketball you can't prepare for that. No repeat team should ever consider something so dumb.

Yeah I am not seeing how this is a bad trade for NY. They gave up dog shite and get to test drive a former league MVP in a contract year while also having a pick thrown in.
Worse case scenario you get a development player and over 20 mill in cap space next offseason.

I don't think they care about a draft prospect, but getting a couple role players, trade pieces, and freeing up cap space would be a plus.

Pretty sure I said Love for Carmelo Anthony.

I would be ok with melo for love. I think that could work. Maybe? Lol

Classic Knicks move. They're trash for a reason.
Posted on 6/22/16 at 7:29 pm to Toula
The Knicks are the guy that wife's up the slutty girl that everyone else on the circle of friends banged when she was in her prime but the Knicks get her with a couple kids and 20 extra lbs.

Meh, it's a big name and the Knicks so it gets plenty of air time, but it's a low-risk, high-reward move. If the Knicks traded Lopez and Grant for a mid 1st round pick people wouldn't give a shite, but when the do it for Rose they come out of the woodworks to criticize.

problem is rose is barely replacement level and you could argue Calderon is the better player at the moment. Call that a wash, but they also gave up Lopez on a great contract who is a far better player than he gets credit for especially on defense, and grant who might turn out to be something (and who was an asset even if he doesn't).
bulls got the better of this especially since rose had zero leverage and they were 100% not re-signing him

Rose averaged 22/6/6 for a whole month only a couple months ago. Calderon is barely in the league. Hanging on by a count hair. He's not even close to rose. Even at his best he wasn't in the same league as current day rose.

a whole month?
he's played like 100 games in the past four years combined
he was electrifying before he got hurt but now he's just a guy

Rose is the poster boy for what happens when to a player when there athleticism goes...what's his skill besides blowing by guys?
Mid Range shooting?

He played 66 games and averaged 16 ppg last season
Calderon averaged 7ppg
I'd say that's an upgrade...even if he gets hurt it's worth the risk

Spurs fans, explain the Mike Conley interest. Is Parker leaving or something?
