NBA Game 82 Playoff Seeding Matrix Scenarios

This is to determine where teams will be seeded for playoffs. Lots of teams will rest starters plus late year injuries. West has never had 3 teams tied for 1st place in last game with each team having a chance to get 1 seed.

The Thunder (average age: 23.9 years) are the youngest team in NBA history to win 55 games, per @ESPNStatsInfo. Previous youngest? OKC’s 2010-11 squad.

The thunder are the future dynasty of the nba.
They already have a legit big 3 and have like 20 first round picks in the next few drafts to trade or use to fill out the roster

Denver really fricked themselves last night
Golden State didn't do themselves any favors either.
I would love to see the bucks drop to the 3 or 4.

But they need to unload some picks in off season to bring in another high caliber starter. They won’t make finals this year imo, lacking at least one more high caliber vet starter. And they can’t daft all their picks there is not enough roster room.
So who goes? Dort is a great defender but can lack in scoring. But bring in someone who scores more that can take points from big 3 and upset chemistry.
Giddy is worth more in playoffs. When teams double SGA in playoffs, Giddy can create his own plays. But he can be silent for stretches too.
Presti has a lot to digest in off season. Last time he built a dynasty he traded Harden and that offended KD and they never got back to finals.

Can’t believe we lost to the Spurs last night. I want that 1 seed.

Like when they had KD Harden and Westbrook? How did that go for them?

It’s pretty screwed up how the play-in tournament has eliminated the drama of an epic end to the NBA regular season.

This is pretty incredible honestly. Considering they didn’t make any off season splash moves, this is mostly the same team as last year except Chet wasn’t injured. Minny jumped as well but made big moves. Also playing in the tough west where 10 of 15 teams have a winning record and 11th is 40-41.

It’s taken it away in some ways and added to it in others. It’s made the difference between the 6th seed and the 7th/8th seed much more significant. There is still a huge incentive to be the 7th/8th seed instead of 9th/10th.

So the Mavs are gonna win the title!

Tough to win it all when your big three has no courage, no heart, and no brain.

That roster has Jeff Green and Serge Ibaka on it also.

Giddy impressed me when SGA was out, I don't know why you wouldn't let this team grow organically unless something falls into your lap.

Yes, Giddy is good at creating. It shows how unselfish he is because he could put up big numbers every night but defers to the others.
And the problem Presti has is too many draft picks. His choice is to draft them but you then have to pay and that can hurt when your money needs to go to stars. Or trade them, but who do you bring in.
You can’t just throw the picks away they have value. Another issue is this team is way ahead of schedule on the rebuild, so bringing in too many draft picks means no experience for those players. Even if good it takes time to learn.
He almost has to trade picks for some great bench depth. But he has some good bench players now so will have to move some and the receiving team should get a good deal.
If he can find a great 2 way player to start I could see him trade Dort and some bench players or picks. But it has to be someone who can play with and defer to your current roster. Not easy to do.
Its amazing how many picks Presti has. I wonder if Paul George would come back? The player he traded to get SGA. That would be ironic.

As a Mavs fan, I hope they tank today’s game with OKC. If the Mavs beat the Clippers in round 1, I’d much rather them face OKC as the 1 than TWolves or Nugs. Dallas can at least bully them inside a bit with Gafford. Don’t think Dallas can slow down Denver enough with all their firepower, and Dallas has no answer on defense for any trio of Naz, Edwards, KAT, or Gobert at the same time. Just too big and too long.

That okc had a young promising core that they totally fricked up once before? Your statement is dumb bro.
