I'm gonna be one to say I don't think KD leaves in '16 for the Lakers if they're still horrible.
Look at what happened to Melo -> NYC. This is far from your 80s and early 2000s Lakers, especially the fact that the guy that made things happen and convinced players that they were family is no longer alive.

No one in the West could duplicate what the Spurs did this past year or upcoming year. The Thunder would have probably lost, as would have all the other West teams.
The Spurs didn't really pass down on the block and draw a double, either.

I feel like Melo is just trying to use the Lakers as leverage for a S&T to the Bulls or the Rockets. Or maybe its just a PR ploy to try and drum up some drama and make him returning to NYC seem like a bigger deal.

Another theory: Is LeBron/Miami try to push Bosh out of Miami so they can make room for Carmelo Anthony? Bosh leaving Miami would leave the door open for another max deal.
I highly doubt it, but after 2010, I'm willing to believe in the impossible when it comes to NBA free agency.

I really don't see Melo going to LA. Neither them or the Knicks will be a contender next year, and I see Phil Jackson having an easier time recruiting players than Kobe on his last season.
If he goes to Chicago or Houston they are instant contenders but he seems more interested in getting one last max deal

If Melo wants the money he's looking for, Miami is not the place.

Melo will end up in NY, don't see him turning down 129 million bucks.

How is replacing Bosh with Melo an improvement? If they could replace Wade with Melo then maybe. It ain't happening though.

Melo is better than every Heat player from last season, save for LeBron. Hell he had more rebounds than Bosh did. If they are just going to use Bosh to stretch the floor, then you might as well get someone who can actually do it at a high level.

Double team from Miami I was talking about was on the SA guards, should have said trap instead
When Miami couldn't trap the SA guards any more they became very ordinary on defense and their rebounding weakness was really exposed. Then SA used their quick passing to wear out Miami when they played SA straight up defensively
there are a bunch of western teams that can do what SA did to Miami. Popovich just showed them the way

Yeah the West has great teams. The East has teams with a couple of great players. The difference between the teams in the West and the East isn't in players 1-3. It's in 4-10. All about the depth.

They have to use Bosh to stretch the floor because DWade can't and Lebron needs to be attacking the basket. Imagine if he wasn't used to stretch the floor. Every team would just clog the lane like Dallas did in 2011.
If Melo replaced Wade then you could play Bosh more in the post. It is dumb to even consider it because Wade isn't going to be kicked out of Miami like that.
