Why is that all of a sudden bad news for Cleveland?

I don't think it is. Just seems odd he wouldn't have a formal meeting with the Cavs.

Likely helps lessen the backlash if he decides to stay in Miami.

Well, people close to lebron have been saying he's coming to Cleveland. It's just a question of where people sources are. With lebron or with the front offices.

I'm 99% certain Lebron is going to Cleveland because there is no way the Mavs would have offered Parsons that much if they didn't think the Rockets were getting someone.

The Cavs pitch is their roster and max contract. Not sure what a meeting would be about.

The Mavs only offered Parson because they thought the Rockets were definitely "getting someone"?

Meanwhile, Trevor Ariza seems to be everyone's backup plan. Wizards want to re-sign him but SF $ is exploding & WAS won't go past $9M/yr.

If it already hasn't, it wasn't going to change after a one to two hour meeting.

Huh? They have been. Doesn't mean that it's a lock to happen though.

Maybe, just seems odd they wouldn't have a face to face before he makes his decision.

If all these rumors have truth to them, I'd think they at least spoke on the phone

Unless he's staying in Miami. All the hype was created by his marketing team

The only way the Rockets can really give Bosh a max is if they do a sign and trade. By acquiring a player in a sign and trade the Rockets would be hard capped at $81m. So by signing Parsons to that contract they can't offer Bosh the max.
