Boston gets: Marcus Thornton-Tyler Zeller, Cavs 2016 protected pick. Top 10 in '16, '17 or '18. Unprotected in '19.

So, then they sign them into space at their market value?

Yes, but there's more to it than that. This ties a higher percentage of team salary into those guys by reducing the total amount the team can pay. Cap space and exceptions are not really equal money when you consider that.

Exactly, I think they could also sign someone like Deng and use the exceptions to still bring in McRoberts and Granger. That team would be terrible, but probably a 6 seed in the East.

If the Cavs get James and then somehow get Love without giving up Wiggins...holy shite.

Can we discuss how ridiculous this offer Boston is likely going to make for Kevin Love?

No doubt. But it also changes the equation when trying to sign Melo to replace him.

Im sure thats the way it was spun to you Cavs fans.

Gilbert is a short stupid frick and his letter to world after LBJ left to Mia proved that.

In 3-way, Cavs get: Draft rights to Nets prospects: Karaman/Drejer/Bavcic. And cap space -- more than the $20.7M needed -- to sign James.

There's nothing dumb about letting your fandom follow your favorite player.

No they can't. They will get the cap space exception (smaller) but lose both the MLE and BAE. Maybe one of them fits into the CSE after they hit the cap, but at least one of them will eat up the space for elite talent.

Now, if Bosh also leaves, they may be able to bring in Melo, but they'll still have a hard time filling out the roster around him with enough talent to compete.

If Lebron picks Cleveland, Miami may very be forced into an instant rebuild.

I think they'll shed some tears before they go buy their Cavs jersey.

I'm sure the Cavs are just trolling their own fans, right?

If LeBron leaves I don't think there is a chance in hell that Bosh stays with that clusterfrick.

I'm sure. You've been a Cavs fan for years.
