That said, those odds don’t make a whole lot of sense at all. According to them, the Clippers WITHOUT Kawhi, in the west, have the same probability of an NBA Championship (11.1%) as the defending champion Raptors WITH Kawhi, in the east.

I think whoever made the graphic misinterpreted the odds. Those refer to odds IF the team signs Kawhi, although they seem pretty ridiculous given that the Clippers without Kawhi have the same odds as the Raptors with Kawhi.

This is what they’re specifically referring to:
quote:

Lakers would jump from +175 to -200 to win the title if they get Kawhi Clippers would move from +800 to +500, Raptors from +1400 to +800

Is there a scenario where:

Kawhi signs a 1 and 1 with Toronto

Lakers sign a bunch of one year scrub deals

Kawhi gets a chance to run it back with Toronto and still has opportunity to join LA next season

Or am I missing something

Seems like the best of both worlds for Kawhi if feasible, but I haven’t really looked into the possibility too much

Kanter claimed Portland gave him 6 minutes to decide to resign or not

Dame responded

Davis' new max contract would be in play next season as well. Not sure what the situation would be.

Certainly possible but that’s a lot of IFs with an aging lebron and AD going into the last year of his deal.

Except a lot of people want to live in Toronto. Have you not seen the show Love It or List It on HGTV?

I don’t bet so I may be way off, but I assumed they was referring to the fact that they’re hypotheticals that can’t be played at this time.

Clippers being the favorite is what they are at +800 now. Clippers are the assumed team so if he actually signs the odds only go from 800 to 500. The odds move a lot more if he chooses any of the other teams.
