Crazy that Mike fricking Brown is one win from being a NBA champ head coach

Game 1: Spurs lead by 14 (L)
Game 2: Spurs lead by 12 (L)
Game 4: Spurs lead by 29 (L)
Spurs really are choke artists.

Game 4: Spurs lead by 29 (L)
Spurs really are choke artists.

Blowing a 29 point lead is thoroughly inexcusable in ANY game. Much less the NBA Finals with everything on the line.
30 years later and we still make fun of a mediocre LSU team blowing a 30 point lead against one of Pitino's loaded UK squads. And that was a random midseason Jefferson Pilot fuzzy picture game that nobody cared about.
I can't wrap my head around this happening with an NBA title on the line.

They have a 12 foot center and shoot 3s all day up by 20+ they deserved to lose.

Short term, Knicks are better. Maybe the Spurs can rally at home and force it back to NY.
Long term…it’s a bit concerning. This has the potential (now) to define them. The youth is part of it…but Fox legit barfed on that. Absolute choke. And Mitch Johnson? Also young and still growing, but at what point do you hold a coach accountable for his team jacking up ill-advised 3s in the third and how they failed again late…?

Any other organization and I’d be worried. The Spurs will make sure to get the messaging right on this. The prime Kobe Lakers blew that lead and came back and won a title the next year. Same with the 2013 Spurs. These things have a way of galvanizing the good squads.

They might pull out 3 wins but they’re not that good
The Spurs have lead every game of this series by at least 12 points at some point in the game. I just think they are that much better than the Knicks and they’ve been up against it vs the Thunder and locked down when needed.
Spurs blew Game 1. 14 point 2nd half lead
Game 2 was back and forth could have went either way.
Game 3 Spurs fully controlled in the 2nd half.
Game 4 Spurs dominated till the last 9 minutes.

I think the Thunder hangover is an excuse for G1 and MAAAAYBE 2. At this point, no.

24 second shot clock and tons of 3s makes alot of leads evaporate fast

One note, having home court has not mattered in playoffs. Teams will take note and focus more on being healthy going into playoffs. Tonight was first win by home court

That's really weird framing when the Knicks had a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter of game 2. I guess that didn't count but the Spurs get credit for blowing a 14 point lead in game 1? Seems logical

I’m still not sold on the offensive foul call against Towns

The Spurs also lead by 12 points in Game 2, and the game literally came down to a missed jump shot in the final second

The refs were awful in Q1. They benched Towns. It changed the game. The fact NY came back shows his importance and refs took him out early. There needs to be a ref review of calls. But it don’t matter Wimpy shoulda been out this game if league cared about integrity.
