With a commissioner like Adam Silver is anyone fricking surprised?

The National Basketball Association, alarmed by the death toll from shootings across the country, is stepping into the polarizing debate over guns, regulation and the Second Amendment with an advertising campaign in partnership with one of the nation’s most aggressive advocates of stricter limits on firearm sales.

In a move with little precedent in professional sports, the N.B.A. is putting the weight of its multibillion-dollar brand and the prestige of its star athletes behind a series of television commercials calling for an end to gun violence.

But the organization that paid for them, Everytown for Gun Safety, has a robust and controversial agenda: It was founded by former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg specifically as a counterweight to the National Rifle Association, and the group also battles at the local, state and federal level to expand background checks for gun buyers, strengthen penalties for gun trafficking and ban gun sales to people convicted of domestic abuse.

good.

I'm for responsible gun ownership, but the NRA is a joke and bad for America.

It's their target audience

If Obama wasn't president and calling for gun control these NBA players wouldn't even be doing this. They are just doing this because Obama is president, they like him, and want to parrot his message on guns.

Can someone answer me this? What exactly is responsible gun ownership? To me it reads like gun confiscation.

He has spent millions to support political campaigns around the country in his anti-gun crusade.

Be much better to spend more time on anti-violence. Guns without violence aren't any problem. Hell, all my guns have never shot or killed anyone else.

Chris Paul, Steph curry? I'll take that bet. I am pretty sure the league has vetted those guys before they put them in a anti-gun ad.

If Al Sharpton is on your side, you're on the wrong side.

I'm ok with this.

Let's leave gun ownership to the MLB and NHL fans

In other words, no one?

See it's funny because we keep saying no one watches MLB or NHL.

Who makes up the NRA? Millions of Americans.

Where does the NRA get its money? From millions of Americans through small donations.
