Piece of shite Edwards. Guy wrecks people but never owns up to it in the post interviews like others.
Harvick will have a hell of a year apparently. Don't surprise me considering who he runs for. Burton too.

|What a freaking finish!!!!
They should eliminate the yellow line rule on the last lap, though. Denny should have won this thing; he did the right thing by not wrecking Newman. That yellow line rule will only cause wrecks on the last lap.... See: Keselowski v. Edwards Talladega 2009
Disclaimer: not a Denny fan or Kurt fan, just a fan of racing.
Also, ain't it weird to see Kurt in a yellow 22?

It doesnt make sense to penalize hamlin here. it looked obvious that Kurt won it either way but the rule states that you can block the person before they go for the pass but you cant force them below the line if they are already making the pass. Hamlin was side by side with newman when newman decide to hug the yellow line.
Hamlin did nothing wrong here. this is a completely different situation than the Smith/Stewart finish at Dega a few years ago. There Stewart blocked before Smith got beside stewart. That was not the case here.

Yes it is. Hard to not think Harvick on that.

Yeah, I kept thinking it was Harvick.

That is why the rule should be removed all together on the final lap. Too much NASCAR official wiggle room. And, again, all it will do is lead to wrecks. If this is the 500, Denny probably does not give him the extra room, and we see another pointless crash.

Dega was my first choice, but then i realized there is nothing more american than the daytona 500, 4th of july, barbeque, beers, and jean shorts. Degas next year though!

quote:July race at Daytona is a blast. I have been to Deg several times, finally got to Daytona for the 400 miler July of 2007. The cars under the lights are really cool. Atlanta under the lights is nice, but at Daytona is amazing.

I am still wanting to go down for Speedweeks in February once in my life to say I have been to the 500, but it is just so dang expensive. Most hotels have 4 and 5 night minimum stays. I guess I just need to win the lottery and go down for about 10 days and see everything - the shootout, the duals, trucks, Nationwide and the 500.

My only race was the 2004 Darlington spring race. We had seats on the front row in the middle of the backstretch. We were about 15 feet from the retaining wall. It was amazing the first time all 43 cars drove by us going 180 mph.
