I'm a huge T mac fan when it comes to his offense but his non presence on the defensive end makes it hard to consider him top five and probably even top ten of all time for his position.
Modern era:
Jordan
Kobe
Wade
Clyde Drexler
Joe Dumars
Ray Allen
Reggie Miller
David Thompson
Vince Carter
T Mac
Mitch Richmond
Chris Mullin
Manu Ginobli
Latrell Sprewell
Pre-modern era:
Jerry West
Oscar Robertson
George Gervin
John Havlicek
Earl Monroe
Pete Maravich
Sam Jones
Hal Greer
Bill Sharman
Gail Goodrich
There's obviously an overlap in my timelines but if you played in the 70s or before I put you into the pre modern era

I find it very interesting that the list they have has Ray Allen and poor man's Reggie Miller, but not Reggie Miller.

My issue with wade is his game basically revolves around running in the lane and getting bullshite fouls called. I just hate that shite, therefore I don't care for him. I know that he is very talented, but I have a hard time seeing past his somewhat bush league style.
Wade also completely dogged it on defense and his effort was sometimes questioned in those years in Miami between Shaq and LeBron.

they explain it pretty rationally imo.

Ray Allen is a poor man's Reggie Miller?
Ray Allen averaged more pts than Reggie over his career.
Had a better 3pt %
Averaged between 23-26 PPG for 5 straight years. Miller averaged over 23PPG 1 time in his career!

Really?
You don't think Reggie would have done that if he was his teams only scoring option? Those Seattle teams were not very good.

Ray Allen before injuries was a lot more athletic and a lot more of a complete player than people seem to remember. He was a beast in Seattle

Maravich is pre modern? Are you 12?
Posted on 7/1/15 at 5:14 pm to JEAUXBLEAUX
his first season was 1970. are you 60?
Making two categories is obviously going to be an arbitrary judgment so I essentially made the entry of magic and bird in 79 the start of the modern era.
I'd wager more than half of the posters on TD weren't alive when bird and magic retired.

I'm glad to see West getting so much respect on here.

First off, I didn't know people on this board thought this highly of Wade. He had a great playoff run that year with Shaq, but I don't personally think he is an all time top 5 shooting guard.
