Just how many top ten teams did 2011 LSU beat? This answer should be interesting.

08 Florida even though they lost a game.

They were easily the best team that year and had a roster full of NFL talent to be on par with 04 USC

Oregon, Alabama, Arkansas. Georgia was 12th

But sure, let's act like beating 3 top 10 teams isn't impressive at all.

It isn't all that uncommon. Ohio State beat three of the top five just this past season.

2001 Miami is one of the most/maybe the most talented teams ever but you can't be in Goat discussion when you almost lose to a unranked team.

bet you consider 11 lsu an all time great team despite their abysmal qb play

You'd be wrong.i consider 2011 lsu to be one of the best lsu teams.

Actually, it was 3 of the top 5. Only one of those games was at home. LSU additionally beat WVU, who won the Big East and later the Orange Bowl.

LSU had the best regular season resume of any team since 1994-95 Nebraska.

Yeah cuz it's the first year of the CFB playoffs you jackass. Every team that wins the natty will beat 2 top 5 teams automatically. LSU or Bama would have added another top 5 win if there was playoff too

Lighten up Mr Internet badass.

If you do a little research you're going to find out that there have been quite a few other teams with multiple wins against top ten teams in one season. LSU 2011 isn't some fricking holy grail.

You just made an asinine comparison and it needed to be noted. Never said 2011 was the greatest thing ever just can't let a stupid comment like that go unnoticed

They beat three top five teams. There's nothing stupid in the statement.

The not uncommon statement was pretty dumb man. No offense, we all say stupid things from time to time. It WAS uncommon but from 2014 on it will no longer be uncommon

Fair enough.

The one thing I'll add is that it did become more likely with the advent of the conference championship game.
