I thought that was a rumor. Never saw that verified

That's what I'm talking about. Game on.

ETA even still - I guess you'd also want to know how accurate he is when throwing into coverage. That's the knock on Jones. His receivers were often alone.

What? That's what I'm saying. The only way we have to know if hes accurate is completion percentage. Especially if theres no eye test

People watch a lot of film on these players. They can determine accuracy beyond the surface level of completion percentage.

And the highest percent completion on longer passes in the country. I heard that stat on tv but have not looked it up. Think Klatt said it

Day changed the offense a lot from Haskins away from the short throws to way more shots off play action

The uneducated opinions on this site astound me daily.

He may not be good but it’s difficult to predict

Biggest knock on Fields is he stares down his receivers and holds the ball too long. He can't read college defenses and relies on his athletic ability too much. However, with Jackson and Murray having success, if he goes to the right team he could be good. The odds of he going to a place that will change for him as opposed to trying to make him fit their system is fairly low.

I've seen him play just about every game ,he doesnt throw more screens then anyone else. I'd say it's a pretty good representation of his accuracy

I don't think that's going to be in his draft file as a character issue. That was obviously a way to manipulate the transfer system. If he's broken any laws.... that's something but not that thing.

In that case he should be a high pick, assuming his receivers weren't constantly wide open.

This is such a horseshite criticism. He doesn’t do this.

He does do this. Tries to make the hero play too often instead of just living for the next down.

He can't read college defenses

Didn't he go to his second read something like 7 times?

That was a lie someone pulled out of their arse. Between both playoff games, he had 7+ pass attempts that were check downs to the RB.

A check down and a second read are two totally different things

Well a check down is not the first read, so it’s kinda the same. Regardless, Fields went beyond his first read more often (as a percentage of passes) than any other of top QBs in this draft.

Might as well take him at #1 ahead of Lawrence....

The article the poster referenced claimed Fields only had 7 pass attempts the entire season that were to someone other than his primary target.

So in that context, no they are not two totally different things.
